Wait, it says that John Dombrow also wrote The Illusive Man. In which sections did he write him?

I don't know, but i'd say in every part where his dialogue is good :3

I'm pretty sure Mac Wrote him on Mars and in the ending part because those missions were his writing task.

Most likely John wrote some of his dialogue in the bits where you briefly see the Illusive man talking to Kai Leng, or when you look at the terminals at the cerberus base mission. He might have written some of his dialogue on Thessia too, but i don't have any hard facts about it :P

Tali (ME1) = Drew Karpyshyn (ME3) = Patrick Weekes (ME2) = Patrick Weekes

I wonder why Tali suddenly improved in characterization in ME2....God, Drew is so overrated.

I don't think so. I agree with everyone who says so, that Drew isn't good at writing interesting characters. I do like bad guys like Saren and righteous "mentor" type characters such as Anderson and Nihlus. I loved the way Anderson was done in ME1 and 2, but in ME3, not so much. He swears all the time and at certain points i thought he sounded like a redneck.

Anyhow i think Drew is so worshipped by fans because he's good at being creative with how his plots are tied
together, and i'd think to any date that Drew would've nailed the Ending because he is the "father of the Reapers" so he must've had thoughts on how they were going to be fleshed out in ME3 if he hadn't left.

Good List, Big fan of Patrick Weeks think his characters had some of the best dialog of the trilogy.

why Chris L'Etoile wrote so little? his characters are really good.

He left Bioware after ME2

:crying::(:unsure:

And Thane got a character assassination by lame space ninja in leather pants on ME3 :bandit:

And Ash turned into this quiet, inoffensive hottie in a blue platic outfit

AndLegion went from "Geth build their own future" to "Reaper code?  What could possibly go wrong?  Yoink!"

So Miranda and Ashely character decay gets explained a bit.

I expect you'll never find out who wrote Leng... No one's stood up for him yet.

You gotta understand that Ashley has A LOT of cut content. The Citadel DLC proved that Watamanuik does understand her in a way after all... But I do agree that the dialogues by Chris L'Etoile in ME1 were still somehow deeper, let alone the topics discussed. Then again, in ME1 she was the poster female character and the first romance that most players stumbled across, whereas in ME3 she's merely an optional character.

What I never understood though, is how Miranda was handeled. Everything in this character screamed mainstream success - even the players who may not have understood her character, get Yvonne Strahovski to look at while her jaws move up and down. Even though I like Ashley better (as a fictional person, not judging by how well either one is written), I was fully expecting Miranda to take her place full time in the third game, instead, both of them got kind of shafted, plotwise.

I heard it was Mac and maybe, just maybe, John Dombrow... but I'm not sure.

Agreed, it does sort of explain Ashley getting the shaft in ME3.  Really a missed opportunity to develop her as a character, especially since in ME1 she's really the first romance option to get put in your face, and a main character.

In ME3 she's relegated to optional.  Hell even after Shep and Ash kiss on the Presidium they go back to the Normandy and act like nothing happened.

Sylvia did a much better job carrying on Liara through the trilogy, than Jay did with Ashley.

I'd go even a step further and say that Sylvia did a much better job with the character than her original writer. Its kind of the reverse with Ashley, with the first game being the strongest for her character.

I suppose that the same thing goes with Tali. Patrick did a much better job writing her in ME2 and ME3 than Drew in the first game.

I'm so sorry to revive this thread but this thread was really useful whenever I want to look up who write who especially when googling. But I would love it more if the list was expanded and updated with the source... short of stalking the writers' LinkedIn and twitter accounts.

When I opened this thread I was crossing my fingers, hoping, Mac hadn't written Miranda.

Goddamnit.

The guy's written TIM as well in ME2. WTF happened to him during the writing of the endings?

EDIT: On second thoughts, it might have been that one lead writer was given charge of a set of characters and was supervising the ones who actually wrote them. So Weekes might have written Miranda and Walters would have supervised?

Even so, I loathe to take credit away from someone without knowing all the facts.
