F/F is fine, Bioware knows how to handle such relations and provide them with good writing and scenes. May be it`s because of a more passionate female voice acting as well.
M/M is not so good. And unfortunately the way such relations were thrown at players in DA2 or ME3 doesn't make it more interesting or appealing. Seeing Anders flirting with male Hawke all of a sudden was confusing to say the least. Forced relations/sexual intreactions are bad no matter the context.

Yeah, typical lesbian action is hot while gay is not. Yeah, this is not a place for you to complain about gay romance, make a separate thread for that or don't. This thread should be used to discuss about what people prefer to see in a M/M romance.

First, you`re in no position here to tell people what to do.
Second, you`re too ignorant to notice, that in my post I talked about preference for a more natural and fluid gay romance experience. So keep your "holy anger" for some place else, kid.

ok so thinly-veiled "f/f is okay but m/m made me uncomfortable" rhetoric then

you made a thread about how we need a romance toggle so nobody is forced to see same gender romance, this isn't exactly the thread for you so please leave before we get locked or something

And this isn`t exactly the place for you to say what to do as well. Don`t force me to report you.
Feel free to contact me via peorsonal messages if you`ve got problems with my posts.

Yeah, I just don't want any drama here. I don't even why you are here, but why don't you post the same thing in the F/F thread? It says more about your personal feeling than the more natural and fluid gay romance experience.

Your flaming attempts will not bring you anywhere. If you don`t know something - don`t speak of it. Easy as that.Got some personal issues with my opinion? Feel free to send me the message, don`t spam your rage here.

lol, why are you eve here? You're the one coming to a thread you're not interested in to post about something you're uncomfortable with after making a thread asking for a toggle while at the same time talking about how F/F is okay but M/M is not. I don't give a damn about your opinion. I just don't care for this thread to be filled with a bunch of people complaining the the romance instead of actual interested in it. Just because your thread got locked doesn't mean you should bring your personal issue to this thread. Simple as that.

I've always sort of thought BioWare felt they had to make Sebastian straight, otherwise that whole... "Take no bride but Andraste" thing would have left him open to have a more intimate romance with a man than a woman. After all, he never says anything about taking no husband... :P

LOL That is an AWESOME loophole!!!

Never really thought of that. It's sort of brilliant. :P

Both Alistair and Sebastian are kind of the prince charming type. If there is another prince in DAI, can we have a jerky prince?

Oh I would love a jerky spoiled brat who slowly realizes the world doesn't revolve around him, and in time becomes the voice of reason and heart in the party. I love character arcs like that (Cordelia from BtVS). The romance of course comes after the spoiled brat phase, but that doesn't mean he wouldn't try hitting on you (probably unsuccessfully for most players) when you first meet him.

What about an incompetent prince who thinks he's all that but in reality very insecure on the inside? It would be pretty interesting to bring in an archetype that haven't been seen before. A guy who is a playa but lack the actual swag or a wannabe cassanova. I think maybe the PC can either accept him for who he is or make him realize that he should be true to who he is.

That sounds like a good one too. I just like the idea of a character coming from a sheltered lifestyle and having to adjust to the real world, Bioware's touched on it a little bit, but it's never really been a huge portion of a character's arc (at least not as far as I can recall).

I feel like Sebastian was a missed opportunity with that. He was sheltered by his royal family then by the chantry. It would have been nice if they have taken the route you mention with him. As for the sheltered prince, would the character arc changes in anyway in regard to his personality? Do you want an option to harden him like with Alistair or Lelianna?

Anyone from the new concept art pieces you'd like to see as an m/m LI?

Hey, the thread came back! Awesome.

Of the new concept art characters, I'd say probably the (possible?) Grey Warden character would be my pick, knowing nothing about him whatsoever.

Though my interest still lies with the mage Dorian mentioned in the leaked survey. If he even exists. Or existed. Or is still in any way involved in the game whatsoever.

Sigh. It's going to be a long wait. ^_^

I hope we don't have another elf again since if one of the LI is human, I kinda hope for something different with the second LI, maybe a Qunari or a dwarf. It's not that I have something against Dorian himself though. Do you reckon they release some info on LIs on Valentine day?

Merril comes pretty close, I think. She was sheltered enough that she thought Duncan's beard was a squirrel attached to his face.

I do like the idea of a sheltered character though, so long as it doesn't feel like it turns into hero worship, aside. (This assuming the inquisitor itroduces said character to the world.)

Ha, like they did for DAII? They were a lot closer to release when they did that last time (less than a month, if I remember correctly), so as nice as it'd be to know by February, I'm thinking probably not.

And I'd definitely be up for romancing a qunari or dwarf character (especially a dwarf). I'm pretty much an equal opportunity romancer. ^_^ I still hope for Varric. Well, sort of.

The character archetype I'm thinking of is a bit less "naive but eager new comer" and more "Big Fish in a Small Pond realizing he's not as big as he thought." So hero worship shouldn't be as much of a problem.

Mary Kirby stated that Bianca is not dead and she will be represented in the game in some formed. I kinda want Varric to be united with Bianca, and it would be pretty awkward for Bianca if they are united in the book or the game when he's already in a relationship with the PC. Varric also did talk about how he only has eyes on dwarves, I believe, so it would limit the choice of the PC. It would interesting to romance a dwarf with a qunari to be sure, for science.

I'm hoping they give us something with Cole if he's a party member. I doubt he'd be a romance option, which is probably for the best, but something like the Aveline + Samara "romances" would be enough to make me happy. I'd be crushed if all we get is one flirt option where he acts totally oblivious and then it's dropped forever.

... or if he's not a companion at all. Which is starting to look more and more likely. :(

He has too many drama surrounding him for my liking. I had enough with Anders and Fenris. I hope they don't include too much of it in the next game.

I'll be happy with ANY m/m LI so long as they're not total physical manifestations of two factions that won't shut up about how the other one sucks. Looking at you both, Anders and Fenris.

For an M/M (or bi option) I really want a love interest like Casavir from NWN2 - sophisticated, protective, caring and good:

"Casavir radiates an aura of strength even though his face often carries an expression of resignation. Well into his thirties, Casavir takes his status as a paladin very seriously and maintains a dignified and sophisticated air to him. Devoid of any smiles or excitement, Casavir is polite, measured and calm in speech and body language." - nwn2.wikia.com/wiki/Casavir

Also, as an opposite kind, I would also prefer a Bishop-like love interest from NWN2 (could also be bi)  - tough, teasing, argumentative and evil:

"With his perpetual shadow of facial hair and rugged physique, Bishop is rather handsome even if his demeanor is thoroughly unwelcoming. Late into his twenties, this veteran of the wilderness has scars and burns across his skin. Constantly on the look out, sniffing the air and checking what’s behind him, Bishop’s hands are always on his weapons. Every time you look over to Bishop, he’s looking right back at you." - nwn2.wikia.com/wiki/Bishop

I think its fun to have opposing love interests, you know, watching them clash and having different motives and interests, plus there's something for everybody XD

What do you think? :D

I really couldn't stand either Casavir or Bishop to be honest. The former was too dull and the latter was just evil.

If we had a male Neeshka on the other hand...

Or a female Neeshka for that matter I guess. I really liked her. Although with Cassandra already confirmed as a companion I'm more worried about the male LI's at this stage than the female ones.

After Anders and Fenris I'm not sure I want opposing LI's. They just sort of ended up being personifications of their respectives beliefs (admittedly Anders was worse than Fenris when it came to this) and I'd already found it too grating by the end of the first act.
