Maybe. I'll probably respec one of my Vanguards to see how useful it is first.

Nope. Still like myself those 100% barriers back more than simply spamming BC right after again for no real benefit.

Some of the responses on this thread are funny. People don't know what they are missing. Do you miss those 225 shields on Gold with your Drellguard? Those 250 shields on your no fitness Volus Cannonball? Do you need the other half of your shields with a Krogan Vanguard with CycloMod IV and heavy melee DR? All you need full barrier for is for the vanilla humans and the Slayer, because their powers depend on how much barriers they have.

Seriously people, you just don't know... BioWare finally struck gold with these balance changes. 50% chance is massive considering how many times in a row I could charge with 33%.

It can actually mean the difference between dying to a single burst from an enemy or not for quite a few Vanguards if you fail your RNG roll.

Oh, but it never did make a difference in my survivability. It just improved it. Most of the vanguards have lame shields and will bite the dust as soon as they pop out of charge, full shields or not, unless they can charge again. If you got your precious 400 shields on a Drellguard you are still going to bite the dust, whether you come out at the start of an enemy burst, in the middle of it or at the end of it. You rely on gating, light cooldowns and soft cover to survive with those fragile kits. And why on Earth should a Krogan Vanguard care about 100% barriers when he's got all the DR in the World? It doesn't make sense that people are against this evo. Hell, do you even realize you can also select shield regen builds with the Kroguard and the Brawler and get the other half of those shields back anyway in the middle of a charge?

Oh, and I host my games. Hell, when you are a vanguard, you should always host your games or die.

Oh well... Some people should just try these things instead of judging them methinks. Bonus Power was awesome then, and now it's gonna be more awesome. But if you don't like it, don't take it. Nobody's forcing you. The mo fo me the mo bettah.

I've always used this evo, and it takes a fair bit of lag before the hosting is an issue for me (though routing through a toaster might do it...)

The repeat charge should never be a gamble; only a bonus potential. If you've put youself in that position, then hope for the best, but when you use it to reinforce a tactical advantage, then is is devastating; shield become irrelevant. The very best is when someone else is priming the target and you set off a series of explosions, repeat hit a primed boss. Heaven.

Probably not, but at least it is something to start considering. The fact that it still won't work 50% of the time is annoying, I prefer powers that can be relied upon.

Why would anyone choose that evo on a Drellguard ?

Do I want to charge again ? Or do you I want to use my Claymore and/or grenades ? Hmmm, tough choice :?

It only makes sense on the Volus, Kroguard and Broguard IMO.

I think i might try it on my batguard. It would be fun to charge/hatesurf then straight into a lash/ hatesurf.

I will absolutely not take that. Far too many times I have to stare at the enemy smashing charge key wildly and nothing happens. I can survive it with 100% shield restore not with 50%.

makes sense.

you could always shoot/throw grenades and then charge again (slightly faster with the bonus power) though.

I hear some people do it when they want to tank two turrets, yo. They were eaten shortly there after.

That said, I think the evolution could be fun.  I'll try it next time I've got a respect card.

Doesn't make much sense on a Kroguard to me, at least not a Reegar-toting one

Nope.

1) I usually let my friends host
2) This is a manly evolution. I'm not manly enough.

I'm definitely going to try it on one of my lesser-used Vanguards who's less dependent on full Barrier recharge. Asari maybe.

Cerby Vanguard, Charge -> 50% chance to insta Smash whilst things are staggered. Not bad. :)

You can try to be as "unique and trendy" as you want by using it, but it's still a bad evo.

They should just make the Biotic charge have 100% as default or as evo 3. Or just make it so that you get 50% and that's it.

Make the evo choice a bit more interesting. Ofcourse people want 100% shields.

has nothing to do with that!

a bad evolution would take away from your gameplay performance. I have made a thread on a build that uses the bonus power that actually enhances the standard build and makes it much more effective.

It can also be used to enhance a krogaurd (as with 50% barrier he can still tank) and a volus vanguard!

Whilst biotic charge's cooldown is still low enough that it can be spammed relatively frequently, there is no reason to take the "half blast" evo in biotic charge.

I can see how it would be useful on KroGuard/BroGuards who are tough enough to survive with half their barrier, or on a Volus who can get their barrier back with Shield Boost. I can also see how a DrellGuard that gets shieldgated by everything doesn't actually need the 100% barrier recovery.

But why the Asari? I saw a lot of people lumping this kit with those that can greatly benefit from Bonus Power.
