The dodge out of a hack trick is amusing, but doesn't seem to work properly off host.

What about paladin double shield smack?

Pizza delivery - Lunging with heavy melee, or running backward - ok

Right hand advantage I believe would fall under clever use of mechanics

The newbies activated the hack by the LZ on giant, I asari slid out of it and went to the LZ itself to provide cover fire.

That's not how it works. You have to be the one to activate it.

There are more immortality doors than you can imagine.

There are 2 on white, not in the same place though.

^ Yes, that's why I'm surprised Bioware think it's "bad". Nobody abuses it, and there are many maps with this bug. Probably all of them.

In the White farming days, people did abuse the "immortality door" in the back door, just camping in the door or retreating back to it if they were getting overrun.

btw, RedJohn, I love the phrase "immortality door" and will be using it as the default name for this from now on.

No.  You really don't.  Just tested again to make sure.  Other teammate activate hack and I slid right out.

I'm 99% certain that using an ops pack to avoid a synch kill is acceptable, though I've never seen anything official on it (otherwise, every Volus would have a hard time using his powers without getting banned.)

The skill point glitch can be fixed without using a respec card or promoting.

There are two solutions in this thread, though I've only tested the one I posted.

You exit the skill tree, enter the skill tree of a pre-Retaliation character, and then re-enter the original skill tree. The skill points will have reset.

It doesn't work if you've already spent the points.

I don't know if it works on console, but that should be pretty easy for someone to test.  Reactor's a good map to try, since all the hacks can be easily cheesed this way.

Yes it does, I have seen this also, no idea how they did it

yeah, have a friend who tries this all the time, Xbox.   Activates the hack the jumps out quickly - then he tries to distract enemies away from the hack, while the rest of us stay in the hack.  Must be tricky to do since he can't always pull it off.

Adrenaline Module/Other Movement Speed bonus' would probably help a lot. The video demonstrated it with a N7 Fury so...just seems like a matter of being quick. This could be frowned upon for those who solo but in groups I doubt it is overly useful.

My personal rule is that I will do it in a solo if a previous objective was devices.  Because **** devices.

Absolutely okay.  They designed i-frames to not be subject to synckill damage, so I can't imagine they would consider that an abuse.  And, it only works on a couple of units and is tricky to pull off.

Since there is a FAQ i thought maybe we'd do one for what BW deems as acceptable and what they deem as cheating.
No trolling, only listing glitches and whether they are ok or not. Also if some BW mods can chime in if we miss something or make a mistake it would be awesome

Bad things:devil:
Falling through the map to get to LZ - Bad
Extra Skill Points - Bad
Hydra Glitch - Bad
Missile Glithcing - Bad

Unknown BW stance:police:
Shadow Ladder Glitch - I haven't seen a response on this
Hack GTFO glitch - I haven't seen a response on this

Ops pack to avoid sync kill - I haven't heard anything on this
Infinite PPR ammo glitch - I haven't seen a response on this
Striker + cloack glitch - I haven't seen a response on this

OK things:innocent:
animation canceling - OK (reload, nova, havok strike etc)
warp + Inc ammo - OK
Inf Grenades + Inc ammo = OK
Making misile launcher invisible - OK
Striker + Explosive round glitch - OK
Paladin FE glitch - OK

OK from BW but frowned upon by BSN (aka for wimps)
 <_<
Box of shame on rio - OK
Running with pizza - OK

Edited **** bad on top need answer in middle and ok on bottom
Edit - added more glitches

Also i'm suprised BW hasn't chimed in on this thread yet :( i'd like to get some offical answers to the unknown ones if possible

Edited added ok but frowned upon by BSN

:D

Dodge/rolling before revive animation completes. Ok

and because it was a briefly mentioned as an "exploit" in another thread. Nukeing a spawn with or without a missile. Particularly while forcing them using the player view mechanic.

i don't see things such as spawn control, nuking spawns, or right hand advanatge as an exploit. its controlling the combat field and suing cover to your advatage. its tactical, not an exploit IMO but if everyone agrees i'll add them

One guy called it an exploit and he was the only one in that thread who thought so. Really, it's just spawn control. You could say that it exploits the spawn mechanics, yes, but deeming something "an exploit" in the context of this game/these forums has more to do with exploiting glitches.

Warp and incendiary is an exploit when you know what's happening. Should at least be in the frowned upon category.

That's why it should be there for clarity sake.

As was stated, its exploiting game mechanics, which isn't completely the same, but other players tend to think you are doing something bannable. So I vote in.

Holding choke points seems more like tactical control. Knowing how the game spawns enemies and manipulating that, is more of mechanics exploit. And I agree it's similar to Right hand advantage. Though combining nuking, with forcing a given spawn is a top tier version of it.

Had great post about this, but I don't want to over argue it, and have even the slightest risk of having Bioware come down against it.
