My party has just explored Larswood looking for the bandit leader who will take you to the bandit camp. Strangely, he has not appeared.
I talked to, and killed, the bandit leader in Peldvale and also threatened a bandit hanging around the near the eastern edge of the crossroads north of Beregost who revealed the location of the bandit camp.
Has one of these actions prevented the bandit leader in Larswood from appearing or is this a bug?
I'm sure I have met both bandit leaders before, killing the first one I meet and getting recruited by the second, although I have never come across the bandit at the crossroads before. Then again, it wouldn't be the first weird thing to happen in this game - earlier on, I talked to Shoal but the Ogre Mage didn't attack. I later
found the Ogre hanging around on the western edge of that map whereas
he always appears immediately after talking to Shoal every other time
I've played.
Can't find bandit leader in Larswood

Welcome back Pingwin1.
From your description Teven should be available so sounds bugged. What's your install these days, have you got the patch if appropriate? I also can't remember ever seeing Droth behave like that either.

edit, presumably you spoke to Tranzig first?

It is patched BG + TotSC. There is a fixpack applied as well, not sure exactly where it was from right now, but it does some minor things like the "boy" who was looking for his dog now gives a reward instead of nothing.
Yes, I spoke to Tranzig (or rather refused his offer to surrender and killed him).
I've found a post on another forum where someone says they found that talking to the bandit at the crossroads prevents Teven and the other bandit leader at Peldvale from spawning so maybe it is not a bug. I've got a saved game from before I set off for Larswood via the crossroads so I may experiment to see if Teven's appearance is dependent upon not talking to Deke.
I guess any party ready to look for the bandit camp can wipe out a group of bandits in no time so Deke usually gets killed before getting chance to talk for most people (if they even bother going to the area of the crossroads where he is lurking).
It's a no-reload game anyway so unless I decide it was definitely a bug, I shall continue with no option but a frontal assault on the camp. It will make a change as I can't remember a game where one or other bandit leader did not recruit my party.

After a quick reload of the pre-larswood save, it turns out that talking to Deke does indeed prevent Teven from spawning so probably not a bug. Had I known, I wouldn't have talked to him but too late now. The bandit camp was a walkover so it doesn't matter anyway.
