The description states " +10% critical/backstab damage." Usually a weapon has to be equipped for its effects to work. How does one backstab with a bow?

Bregan's Bow may be the best bow in awakening. Thanks to Accuracy, your critical chance with Aim is, without equipment, almost 100%, so it pretty much is a direct 15% increase in all damage from auto-attack which is what Archers do best. It's +15% Critical/Backstab, meaning either or, not only backstabs. 15% critical damage is about 20-30 points of damage minimum per shot.

Thanks for the reply. I'm still wondering about how a bow backstabs. Do you just equip it as Rogue and when you shoot a target from behind it counts as a backstab?

Backstabbing with a bow is not possible regardless of positioning. A bow can crit however.

A crit and a backstab are essentially the same in terms of damage; the only difference being that the game doesn't consider a backstab as a critical hit.

And as yet another follow-up, the game considers +crit and +backstab damage the same property

(also, exploit weakness and lacerate are backstab-only)

Thanks for this I've been using the Combat Tweaks mod along with plenty of fixes and difficulty mods for so long that I forgot if backstabbing with a bow was a vanilla game feature or not.
