Are phantoms supposed to get significant damage reduction off host as well as on host?

So I was playing around earlier and, I swear, there is no difference in Phantoms, at least on xbox. I was soloing Gold with a level 13 AJ, Warp Ammo I and the Commando package, nothing else. Reave, which don't always work thanks to her bubble, but absolutely no problems with a Paladin X, AP mod and EB. Now, say what you want about the AP mod, but I rather have penetration than outright damage. Take the HVB and EB with and without an AP mod, and kill a Guardian without a headshot. It just goes right through their shield. Ill do more damage shooting through the glass on Glacier too, as an example, to mooks hiding up in the upper level by the LZ.
So, long story short, or the lame tl;dr so I can fit in, I see no difference on or off host.
Whereas I would have gotten cartwheel/run/cartwheel/cartwheel/invisi/cartwheel/omfg where'd she go/melee/stabbed.
Phantoms act very noticeably different on host.

Agreed. How many times have I raged seeing my Claymore doing almost nothing to them, even when firing at point-blank range a headshot !

Well, personnally, I don't have any trouble with Javelin... Since I only use it on my GI with phasic rounds : Proxy Mine -> Hand of denial -> Headshot kthxbai.
But Claymore... I almost have to flee Phantoms we use mine and when I host (80% of the time...)
I can do proxy > headshot, and I do do proxy > headshot a lot. More often I do "wait for her to take cover" > headshot through a wall. But sometimes they like charging at me in packs. And sometimes I just need to get her out of my face. Off host? quickscope > headshot. On host? quickscope > WTFOMGBBQRRAAAAAAAGE. It doesn't help that, if she's not in cover, I find the easiest time to hit her is right after a flip.

Do they have it in SP? Would it figure that however it works in SP is how it's supposed to work for both hosts and non-hosts in MP?
I think this is pretty much it.
And, from what I remember, they don't receive the DR in SP except for the brief moment that they're flipping, and it's not nearly as much DR. It's been 2 years since I played SP, though, so my brain is not a reliable source.

I make sure that each kit has a power or weapon that can deal with unexpected Phantoms. Scorpion is quite fun for that.

I think Phantoms have put their booty on every races crotch(besides hanar 'cause the possibilities are endless with tentacles). Phantoms are the "real" sluts of the galaxy. ![]()
