The Trans character thread: pc, companions, npc, and potential romance options

This is a thread to discuss the idea of a trans character being available as a companion character, an npc and a potential romance option. Thus far it seems the only trans characters who exist in the Dragon Age universe are prostitutes used for comic relief. I'm curious to see if Bioware will actually introduce a trans character in Dragon Age 3 that can be taken seriously. Considering the relatively small yet enthusiastic group of s/s supporters I'm surprised this topic isn't brought up more. I  for one would welcome this. I think the player should have this option as well.  I see no reason to not allow male PCs from wearing make up and women's clothing if one feels obligated to do so. It wouldn't be even be the first game to do this. There's Poison from the Final Fight/Street Fighter series and Bridget from Guilty Gear to name a couple.  All opinions are welcomed wether this is something that interests you or not.

Are you serious?

Please tell me you're not serious.

WE HAVE FIVE OF THESE THREADS ON THE FRONT PAGE.

I understand more and more why that forum was closed.

I didn't notice a trans related thread topic anywhere on the front page but I'll redirect further discussion there if you can point out a similar topic already started.

Since everyone is now bisexual in Thedas, i see no problems with alot of trannies being introduced either.

This reminds me of the chaos that engulfed ME3's romance forum and we all know how that turned out.

In short, no.

Sure i don't see why not. I can't really think of a reason to specifically keep it out so by all means go for it Bioware.

I'm still asking for a bestiality character, come on. Nug love is where it's at. The Mabari might need some love too.

I dunno, I don't think a Lion would be as fierce if someone humped it.

One serious transgender character already exists in the DA universe (you'll see soon enough).

As for a companion character, I wouldn't be opposed... so long as the point of the character wasn't just to be transgender. Certainly there are lots of interesting stories that could be done with a character like that. My only concern with including that would be uprooting all the ugliness that would come with it. Not that this is a reason to avoid it, necessarily, but I certainly wouldn't approach the complexity with anything less than trepidation. My faith in humanity only goes so far, after all.

Just throwing these up now, it would be nice if people educated themselves before discussing the issues involved. Also, the term "tranny" is extremely offensive. Not that this thread is going to last long, seeing how it's starting off.

I would want to see transgender characters handled with care and understanding, if they were going to be included at all. I really wouldn't even want to speculate on how it would be handled at this point, because we don't really know how gender dysphoria is viewed and handled in Thedas. It's an interesting idea, as long as it's not done for the sake of being edgy or shocking, or you know, bad jokes.

Hmm going to point out that I rarely see FtoM in media at all (The L word is the only example I can think of) so I would like to see them try a hand on that if they did a trans companion. TBH

So would this affect armor appearance?

EDIT Not being a fan of homosexuality or "whatever" is not a bannable offense. Engaging in offensive behavior, however, is.

Why would it when it hardly varies from gender to gender already on characters without preset designs....
