Next thing you know they'll stop making video games altogether and become "The Bioware Maple Syrup Concern, Edmonton Headquarters".

Indeed. Or just interactive movies where you get to pick spoken lines, that doesn`t affect the story at all. Ohh....wait.

Didn't someone mention they were going to keep the slightly cartoonish theme? Don't quote me on that though. But from the little I've seen of the Frostbite engine it looks like basically everything will look like visual orgasms.

I just hope I'll still be able to make reasonably attractive looking characters. In ME1/2 I could make fairly decent looking Shepards but in ME3 everything looked terrible, Shepards and human NPCs. Both DA games have yielded good looking Wardens/Hawkes (albeit in different ways), I hope for the same in DA:I

I really hope its improved at least to the point where we can create taller or shorter avatars then average.

If dragon's dogma can do it then DA:I should be able to do it too

I wouldn't count on it, they've said that height differences screw up the cinematics, which is part of why they aren't offering racial choices for DA:I either.

Height differences as in humans being almost a head taller than elves and about 2 heads taller than dwarves. I can't imagine variance of a few inches taller or shorter would make any difference.

A variance of just a few inches wouldn't be worth including.

More hairstyles and lighting like what is in game. I'm really really sick of having to remake characters because they looked fine in the CC but then look like a creepy ghost person in game.

At least with Black Emporium that could get fixed. In DA:O you just had to keep trying and trying. ;o;

It's not AS big of an issue in the Dragon Age games, but in Mass Effect I would always resort to stock shepard because I found it extremely difficult to make a character without jagged cheekbones.

It's not as bad in DA, but hopefully this new engine allows for more 'natural' features.

Ooooh yes to hair physics, please. That would definately help my female characters get pretty hair like I always wanted. Though DA2 did a better job than Origins.

I could be completely wrong, but I feel like Origins had better facial customization than DA2 and ME did, and I blame it on those games being voiced. Since the Warden didn't talk, I feel like we could completely change the face/mouth shapes - where as in DA2 and ME, since their mouths had to have a bunch of bones to they could talk, it was more limiting. I remember tuning some customization bars from end to end and not seeing much difference at all.

I hope that somehow the new engine will help them work around this, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Image of Battlefield 3 Thunder Run in engine cut scene with Ultra Settings. So I know Frostbite can definitly provide a rich character customization ablity and look very close to realisitic.

I can see that would cause some graphic glitches, but a female Inquisitor with hair like that would be quite the sight. Image IPB

That would be interesting. We don't have much quality syrup over here. Just sugary and not-maple-y Aunt Jemima and bargain brand.

The only thing I really, really want - beside a decent CC, of course- is better face/eye texture. The characters in DA2 look plastic, like dolls. I know Bioware wanted a cartoony look, but it was damn ugly.

Alice's hair was only that good because they could devote their time&money to one character. If Bioware did that, we would've fewer hairstyles to chose.

In the right hands the engine is incredible. But when was the last time you saw a Bioware game that had some of the best graphics and art in gaming?

We hardly get any hair styles as it is.

True, but many were...not pleasent. I would prefer hair physics to more hair styles that I would never use. Though DA2 hair did kinda move, it wasn't just glued on. But if there was hair like Alice's I would die happily on my floor.

Heck, or make all hair avaliable regardless of gender- that's one thing I love about Dragon's Dogma, you can pick any hair style regardless of sex. My man wants long flowing hair! And he shall be named Fabio.

At time of release, the entire BG series. Also NWN. Some people are still using character portraits from the BG era.
