Yes, totally illogical and wrong. Now, if the Achievement said: Gained the Elves as an Ally or Gained the Werewolves as Allies, I could go along with it. To gain the elves, you have to side with the werewolves - and vice versa.
As it stands it's glaringly wrong - and yes, I'm a bit CDO (OCD for those who don't know the joke).

it's problematic to roleplay siding with the werewolves because you'll always meet the elves first, supposedly you'll be seen as their errant boy (even if you hate their guts and if they hate your guts) and the werewolves will attack you several times before you get a chance to side with them. as a result i had an urge to not bother with either one of them and leave them all for the darkspawn but since that's not an option i had to invent a reason to continue: a ruin full of spoils for my party lol.
i also agree that lifting the curse is not the same as siding with the elves and in the run where i did that i kept wondering where those human former werewolves went afterward because i figured that at least some of them were from the time when the curse originally started so probably inhabitants of the now ruined structure in the forest.

I love how happy Morrigan gets when you propose to kill all the elves. xD
