Shepard: I don’t think so. I’m going to stop the Reapers. But I won’t sacrifice the soul of our species to do it.

Just to be absolutely perfectly clear, you still picked Synthebodge after this conversation?  Seriously?

That line is optional. You only get it if you choose the upper option in the first conversation node. My Shepard never says it.

that line is optional.  the thought isnt.  have fun making fluffy with mass murdering genocidal immortal god like machines wont you?

I don't believe in pseudomystical crap like the "soul of my species". None of my Shepard would ever use that term in any circumstance whatsoever. It's out of character.

. Worst line in the series, worse than "We fight or we die"

but later to find out just 'how' to fight..and win..brute force is kind of irrelavant, or made so by the underlying threats. Mission critical facts cannot be ignored for the sake of battle or 'kill bill'..

Image IPB anyway, destroy folks found 'destroy' and ran with it. Didn't work tho..bummer

destroy 'kind of' works, but the threat isn't gone..just delayed till the next cycle of build and destroy is invoked. The catalyst warns in 'plain english' no less, but is ignored for the sake of a non existent boss fight to the finish, or at least the video gamey boss fight. Going through the catalsyt to accomplish 'destroy' is a non starter. Over befor it starts..as it is lore dependent.

It's all about potential.

I sure hope this next DLC is crammed full of goodies..even if it's a destroy call..(<fib/polite lie :).

I'm worried of the comments about 'tears and music' stuff tho..more drama less hard evidence.Image IPB

that is about the most exact description of chaos...and is exactly what the reaperships harp on.

I always found the notion of chaos interesting with the reapers. As is the destroy option.

You must have chaos within you to give birth to a dancing star.

So why did you pick synthesis?

"Add your energy to the Crucible's."

I think Ieldra has mentioned several times that he loathes that line as well.  That line (along with the forcedness of synthesis (inb4 it's optional for the people, no, it's not)) is the straw that broke the camels back for me.

The destruction scenario is the most interesting one:

- The galactic infrastructure is severely damaged.

- Different groups got out of the ordeal in different states which yields great potential for new conflicts and intrigue.

- Many are stranded away from their home planets after the battle which makes Earth a whole new kind of 'crucible'. Great stories could come out of that alone.

- The migrant fleet being stranded is a very interesting turn of events, ironic as well seeing as how they had just reclaimed their world and now many of them again wouldn't be able to return there.

- The geth being shut down could lead to a great story as well, having the player attempt to restore them.

And there's a lot more. I do not understand how you could consider this scenario boring when the other two basically extricate a great deal of interesting complexity from the Mass Effect world.

LOL - I guess you don't believe in our capacity to learn from past mistakes, huh?

Either that or you bought every line of the Catalyst's bull hook, line and sinker!

What's with this invasion of "Destroy-haters" opening threads all of a sudden? Also, the idea that choosing Destroy is "delaying the inevitable" is to have this deterministic view of life and evolution in all its variables that makes no sense at all. Unless you are the Catalyst. [But he isn't God, you know?]
