Personally, I hate all the grenades in this game, so I am extremely biased and say max Cryo Ammo for Squad Bonus - Headshots - Frozen Damage.
Grenades are powerful and deal a lot of damage, but they are also limited. Some missions have plenty of extra grenades lying around, while other missions seem to starve you of grenades, so I much prefer using a power that is consistently reliable. Plus it gives your squad a little more crowd control.
Sticky Grenades are the Infiltrator's only native means of detonating fire explosions set up by Incinerate, but you can also cover that weakness by choosing a reliable bonus power, such as Proximity Mine or Carnage.

If you choose not to spend points on a bonus power, or leave Cloak at rank 4, then you can have both.

Grenades are for multiplayer.
On all my playthroughs I rarely use grenades.
Furthermore sticky grenades have the smallest radius. No grenade should have a small radius. I don't care if it's the grenade that does the most damage. It's radius is too small!
If you insist on using grenades, grab inferno grenades. The number of grenades from both sticky and inferno do stack up and you have a set of grenades with (long dramatic pause) RADIUS!

Squad cryo is useful.
You don't need cryo, but you may find insanity significantly easier with it.

Same here.
I suggest (Squad) Cryo Ammo. I didn't like the Stickies too much so I specced out of them pretty quick. Its also the only grenade I don't care for in MP.

I would tend to recommend Squad Cryo Ammo and just ignore Sticky Grenades. However, I probably wouldn't bother investing in Cryo until late game after I had maxed Cloak, Operation Mastery, Sabotage, and Incinerate, as well as any pertinent bonus power. Cryo's usefulness is much reduced compared to ME2, IMO.

Inferno, Cluster and Lift grenades are all good. Frags are decent, but Sticky Grenades are pretty tricky to get the most out of.

With sticky grenades.
If you do hit an enemy (emphasis on the word "IF") you do more damage than with any other grenade in single player.
In addition the grenade will take into account ammo powers.
Once again emphasis on the word "IF".
Okay come to think about it, it's not hard to hit a large enemy with a sticky grenade.
But if I wanted to do loads of damage to 1 target, I'd shoot the foe.

Where do you prioritize Disruptor Ammo, or do you not use it?

All factions have at least one enemy type with shields or barriers.
As for Cryo Ammo. If you spec it for Armour weakening, those armored targets are going down fast.
I'd rather have incendiary ammo, but cryo ammo will do.
Besides if you desperately want incendiary ammo and aren't a soldier or vanguard, bring James Vega on every mission for his squad incendiary.
Note about cryo ammo. If you can use it to setup cryo explosions...
It's probably not the most efficient way to kill enemies but it sure is a lot of fun.

I forgot to include it in the list. I do use it, and I would probably get one pt early, as well as a pt in Sabotage and Incinerate, then try to level up Cloak, then Disruptor / Operational Mastery at the same time, Sabotage to Tech Vulnerability, Fitness / Incinerate. Bonus power dependent on what it is. For something like Energy Drain, you can afford to delay Disruptor Ammo and really Sabotage / Incinerate a bit.brad2240 wrote...

I was thinking about Disruptor though, since that is a big part of why Cryo isn't as useful. Disruptor does good CC now to all units (except armored).

should i max cryo or sticky grenade????????????
Are you starting at level 1 or level 30?
Because if you're starting at level 30, well you don't even have to concern yourself with such a question.
You'll become very powerful very early on starting at level 30.
Level 1, you'll eventually become powerful (especially if you have all the singleplayer mission DLC: From Ashes, Leviathan and Omega).

Agreed. I pretty much gave up on Cryo Ammo on Soldiers and Infiltrators because Disruptor is just so good now. Although Cryo is still fun if you want to watch things shatter.

I rarely use cryo ammo myself, I tend to stick w/ disruptor on Infiltrator and incendiary on soldier/vanguard, but equipping squad cryo on squadmates with falcons is absolutely hilarious. Especially if you have a lot of detonating powers.
Oh, and as for Inferno grenades - take a soldier, max frags for capacity, max inferno grenades, and equip explosive incendiary ammo on a typhoon. Takes "KILL IT WITH FIRE" to whole new heights.

Oh yes I do.
Give me cryo explosions. Fire explosions and tech bursts. The paladin has it all.
Well the Paladin doesn't have biotic explosions, but 3/4 is good enough for me.
Okay, going back on track.
The scorpion is a sticky grenade launcher.
- They take into account ammo powers
- They look like sticky grenades.
- You get loads of them:devil:
- The scorpion is pretty light and can be a primary weapon (if you're relying on powers).
Here is a caster build for you.
(It may not be the most efficient way to play infiltrator, but it's fun!)
Weapons: Scorpion (as primary weapon), feel free to equip a secondry weapon just incase you run out of ammo.
Powers:
Max out tactical cloak, fitness and class passive early.
Put points into both ammo powers.
Make use of incinerate and sabotage.
Choose energy drain as bonus power.
Now fire a few mines with your scorpion before detonating with one of your tech powers.
Use cloak for hit and run tactics.
Make use of sabotage's tech vulnerability then follow up with energy drain/incinerate.
You can mix and match your tech powers with tactical cloak and scorpion spamming. Experiment.
Best of all you get all the sticky grenades you want, with greater accuracy than randomly lobbing a grenade and hoping for the best.
