**** Valentines day, people at work wouldn't shut up about each others boy/girlfriends, and then my manager at the time (sorta the middle rank...not in a position to fire me, but has authority) docks my pay after i ask her to be a little more polite and not to expect me to be a mind reader.

V-Day is a commercionalized bastardy of the historical Saint Valentinus day, which was by the way deleted from the church's calendar in 1969.
The only reason people celebrate is because florists and sweet commerce are using it to boost their sales. I wonder how many people actually know Saint Valentinus ...
