Can we just post fanfic in the forum here? Like I said, I don't have any accounts anywhere else...and I think I really like what I wrote today. I'd love some feedback.
I am pretty sure this forum was made for exactly that purpose.

Haven't read Robert Jordan. Anne Rice . . . she no longer allows the hands of mere editors to corrupt her work. And hmm, controlling stalker boyfriend, or multiple murderer? Interview With the Vampire is probably her least morally questionable work, some get much worse (in The Vampire Armand the eponymous character was IIRC, sold as a slave as a boy, raped, then "rescued" by Marius, who then also raped him, but it wasn't rape because when it's a vampire in Anne Rice's books it's not rape, it's surprise sex you didn't know you wanted).Jules8445 wrote...
Lol, yeah, mine are starting to calm down about it now too. Some are even starting to branch out into the realm of Anne Rice and Robert Jordan...I give them cookies and mounds of praise when I see them tackling things like that.

So yeah. Hard to see which is preferable.

Because if you write fanfiction, which is one of the key topics of this subforum, fanfiction.net is the largest online depository for it.Capt. Obvious wrote...
So why does everybody care about FanFiction.net?
Edit: Captain Obvious, I'm surprised you had to ask!

Well, at least it wasn't that vampire series about the sex crazed chick who restores her vampiric powers with sex.
I read Interview With a Vampire in 8th grade and most others after that, but found her writing hasn't held up for me. I read Tale of the Body Thief (my second favorite after Interview) a year or two ago and was surprised to find myself feeling bored. Looking back at it half of the allure of reading Interview With a Vampire at that age was the suspense of waiting for Lestat and Louis to have sex already--which of course they never did.Jules8445 wrote...
lol. That's kind of what I loved about Anne Rice...the again, I read her as an adult. I'd find myself reading and going, "Oh holy god....did that just happen?" she really messes with your ideas of morality...especially when you get to the part where the 13 year old seduces the 35 year old in the Mayfair Witch part of the series.
I mean...I never actually questioned what I thought was right and wrong...but it made me blink.

Demands her consorts only have sex with her, while she has sex with like 20 different guys in the course of one book. Has sex simultaneously with Jean Claude and Asher, who were longtime lovers, but forbids them to have sex with each other!
That series is a slow-motion train wreck. I haven't even checked FF.net to see if there's fanfiction for it. Probably not, they probably figure Anita's had sex with everyone, what else is there to write about?
LOL Mostly garbage, the Anita Blake books are the worst of it. The series started out pretty good and rapidly went downhill. Now I read it just to see how bad it's gotten, and haven't even read the last few. It's easy to relate the basic plot because now there is no plot! There are just a series of sex scenes hooked together with a few pages of plot-like events, then Anita adds a few lovers to her menangerie and levels up and adds another power or two and the book is done.eschilde wrote...
The fact that you can so cogently regurgitate the basic plot of this series makes me slightly worried about your literary diet.
(I've never read Anita Blake, but I consider myself warned.)
