Oh.... my...... Y'all know, I'm from the South and my Southern sensibilities can not take much more, especially the thought of the hat not moving while the candy canes are being wielded.....

You're not alone. I'm a southern girl as well. Image IPB

We need more women getting dirty. It is relevant to my interests.

Omg Sweet tea! I'm from Colorado, sweet tea doesn't exist here. I went to Alabama once, and had sweet tea for the first time, and it was like angels singing on a cloud, it was glorious (of course Alabama was far from glorious, /shudder erm, kidding... maybe?).

I want Sweet tea now too :(

I am intrigued! My first piece of published writing was....ahem..... Erotic. But, that's another story.

I admit, I can't handle sweet tea. However, I'm so used to having to specify unsweet tea, that people laugh at me when i'm out of the South because they don't have anything but unsweet tea. Now, soup beans, corn bread, shucky beans, biscuits and sausage gravy.... Mmm, hungry now. Wish hubby didn't have to work tomorrow morning because he makes awesome gravy.

Alright I'm from the south and I have no idea what the heck a shucky bean is.

Shucky beans are an Eastern KY thing, I think. Basically, they are dehydrated green beans that are cooked in a pressure cooker with ham or simmers for hours with ham. They are SOOOO yummy. I had never had them until I met Hubby's family.

Born in the North, but raised in the South, I love sweet tea... 'Course, I also love hot tea - green, black, red, doesn't matter. Most of it's delicious. Never been one for unsweet tea, though.

One thing I've learned after living down South for so long is that while some dishes do seem universal down here (like cornbread... Mmm... Cornbread...), cuisine still varies quite a bit, so chances are you live in a very different part of the South than they do. My roommate in college was born in Lousiana, and even if you disregard Caijin food, she was familiar with plenty of dishes I'd never even heard of.

'Dirty' southern women, BBQ, sweet tea, and a rather special calender. This thread is getting good.

Dried green beans doused in black pepper.

but what KIND of BBQ?

I'm fond of eastern NC style meself, smoked pig with red pepper and vinegar and that's it...

Western NC?  with a tomato-based sauce?  OR SC, with more mustard?

Or Texas style?

you must specify!  :o

Does it count if that is where you are originally from but no longer live there?

Well I was born in Bama so I enjoy their style but raised on Texas beef. So I enjoy the brisket and sausage. Got for the spicy sauce and a big ol jug of sweet tea then finish off with key lime pie...Yum!

I still reside in Texas hehe.

I also don't understand the Cullen thing. I guess I don't go so much for crazy?
Of course, this is from Teagan Fangirl #1, lol.
No matter who people *squee* over, in the end it's a testament to your talent and good storytelling and the amazing attention to detail that makes this game great. It's kind of a Bioware trademark now, yanno! It's also the reason that people want to see more of the small characters: because it's obvious they were written with as much love and attention as Alistair or Morrigan. More Cullen, more Teagan, more Jowan, more Bella, more Isabella, more Cauthrien...none of that would ever be unwelcome, I think ;P

This...like all of it!  I personally love writing the smaller characters.  I have to admit, I think Cauthrien is one misunderstood lady and there has GOT to be a great story there.

Also, I'm glad to hear that Cullen was seen as sort of a mini-Alistair.  I've kind of felt if the two of them got together, they would become fast friends -- Templar bopsie twins if you will.

I like writing for any of the characters, major or minor.  My favorite to write for in any Bioware game is Jolee Bindo from the Kotor game.  I adore his sassy wit and colorful commentary on a variety of situations.  His back-story, if you talk to him enough, has enough complexity to allow for the creation of some very interesting stories.  That doesn't mean I'm not a huge Carth, Alistair, or Bann Teagan fangirl, however.  :D

And yes, I love both sweet tea and BBQ, but Chicago-style deep dish pizza is the best.
