I wish there were more romance options. I would have liked to romance Maya Brooks. I wouldn't mind sleeping with a gun under my pillow.
Best and worst romances from Mass Effect trilogy.

The worst is easy.
It's obviously a toss up between either Jacob or Diana Allers. Jacob cheats on Fem Shep and gets the other woman pregnant, while Allers is a pointless and barely fleshed out character who suffers from terrible voice acting and uncanny valley.

The best romance? F!Shep with Kaidan. A lot of interesting content, highs and lows (like any relationship), and F!Shep straddles the line between hardass and vulnerable so well with it.
For M!Shep. Tali, she has the best dialogue, and it's believable for something placed on us at ME2.
Bisex would be the Samara "romance", it was one line, but it was delivered Perfectly, and the Citadel stuff worked too
The worst romance? Well, Jacob's is pretty shallow, but you get to slap him, so that was pretty fun. Morinth's is pretty lame, but it's designed to be so. Liara's is awful because the dialogue is shallow and uninteresting, and she's shoehorned into the choice. Diana isn't really a romance, so I don't count it.

Best: Liara's was the most complete & satisfying in my opinion. Garrus is great in ME3, but his ME2 romance felt like some casual fling. Considering just the Citadel DLC, Jack has the best scene
Worst: Jacob(ME3), Ashley(ME3), Kaidan, Allers

Best = ME1 Ashley
Worst = The rest of them

I've only ever romanced Liara in ME1 and ME3, and am currently at the ME2 stage in an entire-trilogy playthrough where I'm playing a FemShep trying to romance Garrus. I've already seen the Garrus scenes on Youtube, and there was very little content compared to other romances.

Best: Liara/Garrus.
Those would be my picks as well.
I have no interest in Garrus as a LI and was against Bioware even making him one back in ME2, but for those who did have Garrus as their Shep's LI, he has a lot of content and it is well written.

My most miserable ME3 romance experience was probably with Liara. Until Cronos station, it feels like Liara is just not that into Shep and is cold and distant. The lock-in is awkward and post-Thessia and the time capsule scenes have no romance content. The endgame is gorgeous, though, and almost enough to make me do it again.
Favorite was probably Garrus. Almost every interaction has a romance reference. It's deftly intertwined with the friendship. These two are a solid couple and I love watching them.

I'll leave aside Jacob because it's too easy.

I think there was a speculated bug in the game that reverses romanced Liara interaction with non-romanced Liara. I've heard people talking about that before. It's why some Liara fans complain that she doesn't seem that great, whereas people like myself who would rather have a limited amount of contact with her are made to have to deal with her in ways we find excessive. Sort of like the pre-EC bugs, where Shepard and Aethyta always referred to Liara as his girlfriend, whether or not they were in a relationship, and in the final choice, where, unless you chose the VS as an LI, you always flashbacked to Liara.
As I think I've stated before, Miranda is the only romance I find to be believable and realistic (though I fully believe that's because I have a different perspective than most people), and Miranda is the most interesting character to me in so many ways. Everyone else is just bad. Seriously, imo, outside of Miranda, every other romance is just awkward, unrealistic, and seems to be poorly made. It's something BW falls into. Prior to it, the last 'great' romance BW made was Revan/Bastila.

Why were you against having Garrus as an LI?
Lol I personally can't imagine ME w/o romancing Garrus. My Sheps would be so bitterly single ![]()

Exactly what I think. It feels so natural in terms of their respective personalities. They have perfect chemistry imo.

I thought he was too alien. I thought Garrus shouldn't necessarily be attracted to humans.
To Bioware's credit they did kind of acknowledge in that in ME2, with Garrus' kind of awkwardly fumbling to complement FemShep.

I honestly find Liara's romance path fine as it's presented. Sure, I wouldn't mind something more... personal. But I'm actually very happy with what I've got. Even the awkward confirmation scene. It's actually in character and sure, it includes some headcanoning, but to me, it was very much acceptable.

I'm in the same boat. There are some minor details I'd change if I could, but overall I was happy with it.

It also helps that she is the only alien romance that has no inherited drawbacks.
Call me narrow minded, but I like touching/having sex with my girlfriend without considering medical issues.

Yeah.
I went the Talimance route on an alternate playthrough and felt somewhat uncomfortable with it. I thought Shepard was thinking with the little head and unnecessarily putting her at risk. Granted she knows the risks as well and accepts them, but it still felt a bit selfish on his part and I couldn't rationalize it.

I've seen Tali romance on youtube and this describes my sentiment perfectly.

I'd rather romance the NPCs then the available romance options, as I find the NPCs more interesting.

I suppose. I feel like it shouldn't have been too hard for other species to find appeal in humans (atleast the women) since the galaxy in general already sees the sexual appeal in asari. Also to BW's credit, it was only Shepard who jumped the gun and caught Garrus totally by surprise, and he says something along the lines of "I won't pretend I have a fetish for humans, but this isn't about that"

That reminds me of how you get to flirt/sleep with NPCs in DA, even in front of your LI. Would've been nice to have that in ME too ![]()

Forgot to mention Tali. I've tried romancing her, but I have health problems and was horribly awkward when I was younger. So it was all just too close to home.
