You know what, I keep forgetting that Allers is a lI option. That's how little attention I pay to her.

She got to be an L.I. option while the other characters from the past games did not get to be L.I. options? BioWare, I will never forgive you for such a trifling L.I. option.

They don't care, they got their favorable review and heavy promotion from IGN.

Them that whacko Colin Moriarty opened his mouth...

I did see that IGN promotion, and IGN, most of the time, are believed to be IGNorant. And I believe that to an extent.

I'll be honest, I have yet to meet one person that actually likes IGN.

Gaming news and journalism is like regular news. Bunk schilling of whoever pays them more, opinions treated as facts, and platforms for people to go soapbox-Sadie on everyone. IGN is comparable to Fox News in that aspect.

I like IGN, or at least I used to. I still like them but I lost a huge chunk of respect for them after it became apparent that Colin Moriarty's review of ME3 was not up to scratch ( why did he not acknowledge any of the games flaws ) . More respect was lost after he started attacking ME fans for not liking ME3's ending. He really showed his professional integrity there and now I know that professional reviewers can be biased and they can be bought.

Removing Allers would hardly even improve things. The situation got complicated the moment they decided to add SIX new romances in ME2 (among 11 new squadmates all with death variables)

Best:

Udina and Anderson

Worst:

Thane and Kaiden (there was just no passion between them)

I don't mind new LI's, especially when 3 is rather limited. I just wish they spent time developing them and working on them. ME2 did botch that route there.

Granted though, Allers did take up resources that could have gone towards something else. That's my stance on the issue.

To me, IGN specifically equates to Fox News. Most other gaming media out there really isn't worth a darn either. The ones I have the most respect for are the independent fans who write their own reviews and the guys who write for non-gaming related media; the guy from Forbes really stands out to me. I remember I really liked his reviews and updates post-ME3.

It's also difficult to take a review for a game seriously when there's an advertisement for said game right next to it.

Just a little question, is femshep <3 Liara same relation as maleshep <3 Liara?

You romance Liara with femShep in more or less the same way as with mShep (there are only very slight differences).

Insomuch as that they are both terrible, no.

As for Allers, yeah, that's the little romance that wasn't. At least Kelly would dance for you.

Best: Garrus

I really like Thane's romance despite the inevitable death in ME3, I can't forgive what Bioware did to that character, so much potential.

Worst: Jacob

It was handled badly, I have personally never romanced Jacob and I probably never will because of that.

For maleshep

Best: Tali

Worst: Liara

Wayy to forced on the player, and when it does happen its so fast and there isn't much build-up.

Did you know that this is the case for all ME2 romances?

It just feels like with Liara, she's just interested because of the Prothean beacon. I have nothing against her character, it's just her writing for the romance (to me) wasn't great compared to other squadmate romances.

All the romances suck, I only reason I do them so that before Cronos Station I can have a toilet break or stock up on food whilst the romance scene is on.

Maybe the sound has some sort of psychosomatic effect on the "movement".

Anyway, Garrus and Liara (and Kelly) are the only romance options that don't leave this awkward impression for me, especially compared to the emotionally broken Jack.

It's cause of this that Garrus's romance feels the most "realistic", atleast to me. For alot of people under 30 these days, romances kindle by having a "DTF?" attitude first lol. And I feel this would be even more the case in a military setting. Thanks to Shep/Garrus's friendship, it's not tasteless, and pretty cute.

Not a big fan of her ME1 romance either. But for me, LotSB was what gave Liara's romance the depth that all ME2 romances lacked - there was conflict, resolution, and finally, you are able to reconcile the romance. The only other romance that comes close is Garrus'.

Except ME3 put the LotSB reconciliation romance into the gutter by not recognizing that you continued the romance in LotSB (you have to use Gibbed to properly correct the right romance flag) and for later giving Liara one of the most bulls**t Love Interest lines I've seen in this series:

Liara (on the Citadel): "I wish we could spend more time together like this... just friends...."

My FemShep: "... 'Just friends'... we banged after you took down the Broker in LotSB and I've made every romancable move on you since this third game started, but you think we're 'just friends'  <_< F*** this, I'm gonna go replay ME2 and see just how much reach Garrus has."

I only play FemShep. The romances I keep coming back to is Kaidan, Garrus and Traynor. Love them all equally. Currently romancing Liara for the first time but so far it feels like I might prefer her as a friend in ME3. Haven't seen the entire romance yet but so things might just change.

Wait a minute, a correction. I love Kaidan, Garrus and Traynor equally but the Garrus-romance is the best one I have played in any BioWare game. Know that I will see it again some time.

I chalk this up to unfortunately poor design, as the team simply did not bother to write an alternate line in this scene, because if I recall, Liara's 'just friends' line is the same for a non-import Shepard.
