Best: The VS, of the two I've only romanced Kaidan but I assume Ashley's is similar. I really loved the story arc. Kaidan's afraid and suspicious of Shepard in ME2 and the beginning of ME3. Then when Shepard has an existential crisis on Chronos Station, Kaidan is very supportive.

I wish they'd altered the whole trust thing a bit (either to make it resolvable in ME2 or adjusted it more if romanced in ME3, preferably the former), but the VS characters were my favorite romances as well - more so Ashley for me since I play male Shep, but I like Kaidan the most for my FemShep.

As for that particular scene, Ashley's response is appropriately more her style -

"Screw those Cerberus freaks, you're real" or "Damn right it doesn't. No matter what anyone says, you're you."  (depending on what you have Shepard say).

Not canon, of course, but I also love Kimberly Brooks' vocal version of her post-Horizon email, really hit home.

The Jacob romance is the worst in my mind. Not just in-game, where it sucks for FemShep, but for meta reasons too. Really, Bioware? Turn the black guy into the cheater who knocks another woman up in that short a time period? Ugh.

I just don't like Kelly.  I'm not sure why...  I romanced Miranda (Renegade) and... I just didn't really like it.  It didn't feel very rewarding.  I haven't tried a Cortez romance but I don't want to.  It just seems so... awkward (I'm all for gay marriage btw).  I'm romancing Ashley in my current playthrough (Paragon Soldier.  Spacer.  Sole Survivor) and as of right now I'm not sure how it would rate against the other romances  I've done.  I haven't romanced Jack, but I'm planning on it with a Renegade Sentinel.

Best: I liked Tali's most even though she was quite the damsel in distress.

Wanted - badly wanted: Aria or Samara. Or any of the badass Asari commando squad leaders really.

I don't think Liara is badly done, but I think a several hundred year old Asari would have had much more potential for interesting dynamics, and for a relationship between two true equals. I wonder why BioWare didn't exploit this intriguing feature more.

there seriously needed to be a renegade interupt on horizon in me2 to slap her right across the face.

liara is risking her life to save my body from the collectors, and tali and garrus have had my back since day 1.
all ash can do is whine about me working with cerberus.

You're still only left with the "Hey I'm eye candy too." which is not something he'd say and "I'm looking at the ladies" which is just a lie.
You can't say something even gender neutral like "I stopped looking at eye candy" or something.

Best: Gabby and Ken, Garrus and Tali. Both are hilarious and fun to watch them develop. I used to romance Ash just to hear G & K before it was patched for this sole purpose.

Medium: Kelly. I so wished she was more developed in ME3, but hey, everyone hates gingers.

Worst: Diana. Only my generocity and tact did not let Javik do his standart procedure for waste disposal.
