DAO fave: I am on the fence about Alistair because I'll be honest here, I didn't harden him through my semi-blind playthrough and he broke up with me when he became king, which I will never forgot. Still plotting revenge. But I will say I like the romance and I love Morrigan's too, though I never finished it.
DAO least: Lelianna and Zevran, but more so Lelianna. Every time I question her beliefs about religion she gets to the point of giving me negatives and doesn't come up with the best argument. Since we have little in common there, besides some stories and a passing interest in fashion, we don't have as much in common as I would like. Zev on the other hand I love more so as a companion than a romance, I love his views on sex and death, but death in particular. I lacked that kind of deep conversation with Alsitair because he is not that bright and more judgmental.
DAII faves: Anders because to me he was "right" about a lot of things and unlike the characters in DAO who were more on the "good" side of things (ex. Wynne and Alsitair.) I felt they were extreme
good characters I am kind of this chaotic neutral person who found myself agreeing more so with Morrigan's views on most of everything. SO, I bit my lip with those characters, mostly Wynne. With Anders, he wasn't blind about the dark side of Justice or life completely and he is a polarized character. Maybe unstable at times. I find myself not only having sympathy towards his problems and views, but I find his character development throughout DAA-DAII and it's acts very interesting. Basically, I find that I can be "myself" with him more than say Alistair and I find him more devoted in some respects than Alistair.
I tend to like the romances better in II because I am more interested in the characters than in Origins when it comes to that sort of thing. That being said I love Fenris and Isabela too. Isabela because I find how she comes around to the idea of love to be good. See, the way I see it is that it's not just that Isabela is afraid of being loved, it's also that under all that exterior she suffers from some self-esteem issues likely stemming from her childhood. I think this is the best explanation for some of her behavior. I also agree with Anders that she is a lot less selfish than she pretends she is. (Plus, I knew someone just like Isabela once upon a time. I find myself having a lot of fun with her.)
Fenris, I am not done with my romances but not only do I love his voice I love his personality too. For my femhawke it's between him and Anders. Fenris appeals to me in certain ways that Anders does not fulfill. Namely, even though I "side with the mages" on freedom issues I am certainly aware of there being corrupt and arrogant mages who try to defy the Maker for power as Fenris puts it. I am very, and surprisingly sympathetic to Fenris's plight and views about mages. I understand why he has so much anger towards them. I know that as long as some people are able to obtain power they will not be good. This much we agree on.
DAII least: the last part leaves out, you guessed it: Merrill. I am sure someone can find some fulfillment and while I can deal with certain amounts of stupidity, naivete, and willful ignorance I have dealt with so many people that are similar to Merrill about certain things concerning magic in the pagan community in real life that I have very, VERY little patience for Merrill. She is an adult, her character does not change as much as the other 3 mentioned in the game. Despite her moe [anime term] appearance she keeps her eyes closed as Flemeth had said. Whenever I put Fen and Anders in the party with me with Merrill I find myself agreeing with how they are somewhat mean towards her, though Fenris is harsher than I would be. I don't *hate* or *dislike* Merrill. I find her to be pure of heart, but it's hard for me to be nice to someone who just won't listen as seen with the rivalry where she gets mad at people looking out for her best interests. It's just too hard for me to be THAT nice concerning the ignorance, stupidity, and subject.( I do like her and Isabela's relationship though.) However, there are a few reasonable things Merrill has said that I agree with. Such as the templars killing people whose only crime is being born a mage and some of her views on spirits are pretty well thought out and less black and white than Anders's view.
oh and Sebastian because though I am very attracted to him and it takes every ounce of my control not to tease him, I find him off limits since I find the idea of a sexless relationship/marriage unappealing. It's not that I don't have understanding for circumstances such as sickness, it's that he's doing this while being perfectly healthy.
