The UK punches well above it's weight in game production and ingenuity but gamers as a whole are generally despised and frowned upon, and that's just the kids!  To be in your forties, female and admit that you spend most of your spare time gaming will often mean that your contemporaries and peers will start making disrespectful gestures behind your back.  Hopefully the new decade in the UK will see an end to that.
