My favorite companion in any of the ME/DA games is James (playing as a female PC) because he is a total flirt and you can flirt back with him, but it's all just in good (non-romanceable) fun.  I really enjoyed the inclusion if that type of realationship.  I would love to see something along those lines in DA:I- like Varric but take it further.

Aveline? You could lay it pretty heavy on her but nothing would come out of it,

I know some people disliked having the option taken from them to flirt or respond to his flirts (FemShep just auto-flirts right back), but personally I loved it. I took it as lighthearted teasing which is totally in-line with my and my Shepard's personality.

Too bad we didn't get the option to follow up on it as another M/F romance option, considering what happens to Thane and Jacob.
EDIT - you can flirt with Sebastian too.

Unlike James, please allow the option not to flirt back,

I'm not opposed unless it's blown too much up into a "could have been"

And Aveline's litte thing wasn't fun because she was completely oblivious to it.

I liked the small stuff with Vega because he flirted and you could flirt back but nothing ever suggested an actual relationship, if they can do that in Dragon Age too then I'd be cool with it.

Indeed, this should be a given, nothing is as irritating as being an automatic flirt.

I always found Aveline strangely attractive. The trouble was that with regards to flirting it was all one way traffic. It just didn't register with her as lost member of The Wurzal's, Donnic was what she set her sights on.I wonder how it would have played out if Aveline had told Hawke to get her name tattooed someplace special.

I'd like it as long as there's a NICE way to not flirt back. I don't want to shut that sort of thing down by being a douche.

You can flirt with Varric. It just never goes anywhere.

Now that I think about it, the only party members you couldn't flirt with in DA2 were your siblings and your dog.

I would agree with James being very flirty especially with my femshep.

I like flirting with Aveline. That was done well.

See, the problem with James was that with my FemShep--who is a lesbian--was forced to flirt back. On the other hand, my ManShep would have hit that in a heartbeat but couldn't flirt with him like FemShep could, aside from a throwaway line about the bed (which James immediately responds with basically "no ******". Sigh.). Equal opportunity and optional flirting, please!

I love these types of friendships. You're just that comfortable and close with someone that you can flirt, tease and joke around without anything coming of it, including some funny jealous banter from the LI would be nice too... However the flirting should be completely optional. A couple of my FemSheps wouldn't of taken any of that sh!t and yet it still happened.

As long as the flirt isn't sexier or more likeable than the actual romanceable companions, I'm fine with Dragon Age 3 doing this.

If Vega were romanceable, in my opinion, he would be one of those types of theoretical romanceable characters that has been discussed in a certain thread here on BSN's own Dragon Age 3 Inquisition General Discussion board. He is ugly, and I mean shaved gorilla ugly. Not that there's anything wrong with that. BioWare doesn't make JRPGs with Final Fantasyesque aesthetics and I don't expect every character to be some flawless picture of utter perfection.

His face aside, he looks like a steroid abusing, tribal tattoo sporting douche bag. Good think he's actually a really fun and likeable team member.

Well, I personally find him very attractive, so to each their own I suppose.

You must not interact much with fandom outside of the BSN, right? Because Vega has a large following of fans who think he's attractive as hell, or even the hottest male in all the series.

He may not hit your number, but his type is insanely attractive to many many people out there.

Ha! Ha!

OP: I like James too, for the same reason. He's a very refreshing and hilarious character.

Flirting with people you're NOT sexually attracted to makes life a lot more fun.

You should try it.

Well there's a difference between what I would do (I actually am quite a flirt with everyone, including my friends) and what my FemShep would do, was what I was trying to say. ^_^ She's pretty serious.

Aveline was pretty good. Samara in ME2 as well.

Didn't like Femshep/Vega, since I can only have a say in the matter by avoiding the conversations as much as possible for the characters that aren't at all interested (which requires metagaming).

I don't give much of a crap about fandom and its tastes inside or outside the BSN most of the time. I think Vega is ugly. No amount of argumentum ad populum is going to make me think otherwise. He looks like a Jersey Shore douche bag who became a space marine. One with a face like a baboon's butt. That said, I think he's a fine character. He's cool in a jock kind of way and a lot of his dialogue is fun.

Dudes don't really hit my number. I do like some women who are unconventionally attractive, so I guess I can give Vega fans that...

Much to the disappointment of those weird Bethany lovers I'm sure. XD
