I seem to recall that the very first thing we ever see Tali do is throw a grenade at a thug who tried to feel her up.

I wouldn't call her "submissive," so much as "inexperienced." By ME3, she's far more confident - I'd call her and Shepard equals.

I suspect that would only work with Ashley, Liara, Jack (maybe), Kelly, and Allers (brainbleach).

For FemShep, of course, it'd only work with Kaidan and Liara. FemShep got gypped.

Didn't mean procreate literally.  Was more along the lines of "I would bone half the crew."

Especially Javik.

I prefer tough girls who have a spine. I am a combative and aggressive person and lose all interest when a woman becomes cowed and submissive, there's no fun in it. As for mysterious, my man, I have never met a woman who could not be considered a mystery and who wasn't as useful as a fence post.

Too few categories. Any of the female squadmates could be considered "tough" women by any stretch, as all of them are willing to dash into combat and gun things down, as well as occasionally give you a piece of their mind. The "tough" ones on your list I would consider unattractive, annoying, overcompensative "****" personalities (the kind who misinterpret the "well-behaved women seldom make history" quote to mean "being a generally miserable person is an admirable trait") who I wouldn't waste two seconds of my time with. But I digress... Ashley, despite her mistrust of aliens, I wouldn't put in the same category as the other two.

I prefer Liara overall. But Kelly and Dr Michel are also up there. So basically what I'm trying to say is I like sweet and girly redheads.

I prefer the mysterious, feminine, and complex woman, who is also independent, competent, and capable of taking care of herself.

It's why I love Miranda.

My favorite female characters are Miranda, Sarah Walker (Chuck), Bastila Shan (KotOR), Hannah McKay (Dexter), Emma Frost (X-Men), Vesper Lynd (Casino Royale), and Mara Jade (Star Wars EU).

See the connection there?

Defrosting Ice Queen woud be a good descripter for the woman I like.

I can't stand submissive and shy girls. They have no passion for life. It's pathetic.

To avoid confusion, please make your own descriptions instead of "tough" and "submissive"

I don't know really. My Ex was more of an Ashley type and my fave romance is Ashley so I guess that says something.

Hmm, sounds like somebody has seated anxieties over their own abilities and would hence prefer a somewhat submissive relationship where a competent partner directs things. Also, a partner with emotional concerns which gives them a solid role to play in the relationship - emotional support and comfort.

Which is cool. Although I'd prefer they not call shy people 'pathetic.'

According to Matriarch Aethyta we are all anthropocentric bags of dicks. I say, bone anything remotely humanoid.

Guys, Tali is the mysterious hottie behind the mask here!  Those of you who have seen what she looks like with her mask and hood off know what I am talking about!  Those of you who haven't type the following question into a google search "What does Tali'Zorah look like without her mask?".  I guarantee you won't be disappointed.  On top of that I always have a tendency to go after the brainy, quirky and submissive ones.  Um, provided all of those characteristics exist within the same woman.  I saved Tali for last since I have run through the trilogy and romanced everybody a male Shep character can romance while also playing the game as every class Shep can be (my fav is engineer).  The reason I saved Tali for last is because of the mystery involving the enviro suit and mask.  Lo and behold I find out that not only is Tali far from being a "suit rat", but she is in my eyes even more beautiful than the precious little asari scientist (Liara T'soni).  On top of that Quarians have a similar life span to humans (the whole asari 1,000 year life span is too creepy for me), they are tech geniuses (like yours truly), and the way Tali fumbles over her words when she tries to express her love for Shepard is just too cute to pass up.  In Tali I see a lot of what I have always envisioned as the perfect woman for me...beautiful, sharp as a whip and not stuck up about it.

While I don't know all the characters you listed, I agree with what you're saying 100%, per my signature

*Not a troll thread*

There are three easily identifiable kinds of females in Mass Effect trilogy. Tough, authority-seeking women (Miranda, Ashley, Jack), mysterious (Kasumi, Samara) and more submissive kind of women who almost worship Shepard (Liara, Tali, Kelly, Diana Allers is bad). What kind do you prefer to romance in ME trilogy and is the same with your real life expectations?

What kind of men do you prefer if you are into them?

Giana and Shiala deserved screentime. Both could have had strong backstories if made into one night stands/love interests.

I'd take both of them plus Tevos as a one night love interest.
