To reiterate the elitist manifesto:
- Score is meaningless
- N7 is especially meaningless
- Challenge points are meaningless

How to recognize the skill and attitude of a player:
N7 level:
N7 < 120 => noob. not promoted yet.
N7 = 120 => elite player. has never promoted and never will. Mocks those who do.
N7 > 120 => sad epeen fetishist. never plays a lvl 20 character.

Banners / challenge points:
Low CP, no banner => noob. Hasn't finished any challenges yet.
High CP, no banner => elite player. Only plays the most difficult, most elite kits, so has none of the aliens and weapons challenges, but probably has nomad and the 4 factions done 100 times each.
High CP, nice banner => sad epeen fetishist. All challenges done. Has done grinding challenges such as Combat Mastery several times.

The only true measure of a player is how many UR's they have unlocked.

Don't worry about BotB. Neither I nor any of my friends with this ever kick or insult anyone for being anywhere from new to BotB or inbetween. The few people I've seen who do kicks are generally the people who don't really know what they are doing and are either insecure about whether they themselves have the skill to play without allies being great, or are just outright snobs who think more of themselves than they deserve. I remember long ago playing with someone who had the highest PC N7 rank and was one of the first people to attain BotB and finding out there was no competition at all...just laughing my head off over someone that had more fun than most. I can't even begin to tell you how much more enjoyable it is to join a game with a new guy or unskilled guy than it is to join a game with an elitist snob.

I used my BotB banner for about six games, then took it off.

You come across a lot of players without it who do the stupidest
things to outscore you. The bottom line is, everyone can have it
with an investment of TIME, not necessarily SKILL, and it's supposed
to be about FUN, not cawk stroking.

Do objectives, don't shoot possessed abominations in front of
squad mates, don't flamer from behind your squad mates, don't
try to hold the LZ for the entire extraction wave, medi-gel if a squad
mate can't get to you, don't be a shockwave spammer and you'd get
by in any game, methinks.

Everyone knows the cheesiest and easiest way of soloing gold is with a melee volus against Collectors on London.

Well, that wasn't the part I thought was trolling. It was the part suggesting that if you've got the Lonewolf banner (by doing Gold Solo the easiest way possible, no less) then you're by definition a good player.

I spent most of the last few months having no idea what any of the banners meant.

The only one I could see myself getting anytime soon was Dog of War, so I got it. I've been rocking it ever since, and couldn't really care less about which ones other people are using.

But I smile whenever I see freckle-face in the lobby. I never see the maleshep one anymore.

Really, not since the Femshep came out.

Not true as I've had  4Mill + drought and started buying more JEPs also I've met new players who throw money at the game and bought I dont know how many packs and have some maxed URs... heck they dont eve know a time when the missile launcher needed to be charged before it could be fired and saving some1 who got grabbed by a Banshee with a rocket was a true accomplishment

Honestly, when I get in a lobby with a player who has BotB on, I’m happy, because I know for sure that at least one other person there has enough experience to extract on a difficulty higher than Silver.

With that being said, in my limited time playing with people with said banner (I do exclusively PUG on Xbox, so I rarely see these types of players), they’re not usually the best person on the team, or if they are, it’s because they’re the only one in the lobby rocking a X level UR and level IV ammo.

Regardless, I wouldn’t worry about your N7/Challenge points/banner/whatever, because they really don’t mean a whole lot. I generally top the scoreboard when I PUG, and my challenge points are in the mid 3000s, and my N7 is 570. I’m not saying I’m the greatest player in the world, but the point is, I’ve outscored players ranked wayyyyyyyy higher than me, because rankings only mean one thing: How long you’ve been playing.

In short: Don’t stress it; if you can play, it’ll show.

Well kroguard vs geth is the easiest for a gold solo in my experience.  I've mixed it up a bit and that one worked for me best.

This problem goes beyond simple jealously. In fact, I don't even think it is jealously. I'm not upset when I see someone with Best of the Best & knowing that it isn't one I have. And the banner by itself also isn't what is causing my insecurity. It's seeing other people with the banner combined with knowing that you have to have a high skill level to obtain it. You are trying to cover up jealousy with admiration. Do not do that. Accept that you feel both, and do not try to replace one with the other.

When you say that guys with Best of the Best banner look down upon you - you simply do not know it. The fear of unknown is replaced here with insecurity from the past. The truth is that there are good and bad guys with BotB banner. Simply accept that you fear the unknown.

Also, some people are just better than others. There are people that are better than you at the moment, but also a lot that have even worse skills than you. Remember that nothing is constant. If you keep playing your skills will improve naturally. Those people that have BotB banner are just ahead of you in the journey. Do not overthink this. Cherish every moment that you have and enjoy the journey.

I have said I mainly play with friends and that is true, however I started doing at least three gold pugs a day in January, my goal was to simply help players out as most pugs need help in many ways, I have made quite a few friends this way, showed them the ropes, introduced them to BSN and players from BSN, the goal was to help inprove the quality of their game experience, it doesn't always work but I do keep at it.

I have also run into a tremendous amount of BSN posters and lurkers, added some of them also if they wish.

Now in a gold lobby do I look down on a random, no I do not. People who run with me will tell you even when we bring in a random that has a setup that I feel will not cut it, I do not kick, we will in a kind way make suggestions over the mic but they are not obligated to change anything.

I believe the majority of randoms have their heart in the right place, so any little thing I can do, I will at least try.

This is the internet, we will run into all kinds.....take the negative ones with a grain of salt and hold your chin high.

Everytime you post Mus7ang, It reminds me why I enjoy playing with you.

OP, honestly players good enough to get a BOB banner are also smart enough not to look at challenge points or N7 points as a means of seeing how good a player is.  I personally look at their loadout and equipment usage.
