Is our goal just to score 20,000 points against Banshees or is it to score 20,000 points just on Banshee kills?

20K no matter how, assists, kills, the points count toward your total, as
in previous challenges with targeted enemies.

Yeah, points are points. It doesn't matter if you kill them or not.

I initially went to agree with the others...but the blog does say "kill" in the description:

Earn 20,000 points killing Banshees.

My guess would be on what everyone is saying, but an easy way to test is to go hurt some banshees but not kill them, then check your mission progress in game.

Those didn't actually have the word killing in them.  Usually, when the word kill is in the description, it means kill the enemy, but the times when that was the case, it was more clearly stated or there was a thread about it.

I will kill you.

I am killing you. *proceeds to kill you*

I have killed you.

No where in the blog does it say "killing blow", so, "killing" is an active, ongoing process of inflicting physical trauma until a creature dies.

Good point. Two hours maybe until we know for sure then.

Bah, a single Platinum Reaper game with Armored compartments should do the trick. People can't snap kills from a missile anyway unless everyone is trying to nuke the same spawn.

Then what about when sometimes I shoot and someone missile and I get the points instead? Thats technically stealing the kill right?

Well, if someone tries to steal your kill, you steal it right back. Easy.

Rockets you say ?

Lost count how many times I wasted rockets on spawns and VIP enemies when a team mate missiled the same target just a split second before mine hit. Against reapers, at least I get a few swarmer kills ;)

In Operation Detonator, the verbage was similar to this and we had to get credit for the kill for the points to count.

Regardless of how blog post is worded, You do receive points for simply damaging the banshee, regardless of whether or not you inflict the killing blow, that is how the point counters for all the other challenges worked.

It just takes 7 or 8 banshees on set enemy on platinum. For easy completion, set it private/unknown/reapers/platinum, get a infiltrator and kick off. Cloak then run and find the 2 banshees. Missile the 2 when you see them. When no more banshees spawn, just die off. Takes 2 wave 1s. Or if you can do it, don't missile and solo it until wave 2 and concentrate on the banshees. Took 7 minutes and its quite refreshing to do the op on platinum rather than bronze

Do 3 waves on solo platinium with Armored compartments (8x missiles). 2200 points on each Banshee makes it realy fast.
