I perfer to lower my expectations and positively surprised rather the hope for the best only to have my heart broken once more.:crying:

Considering the quality of Leviathan and Omega, at this point you must be expecting the new DLC to be a Bioware employee breaking into your home and beating you with a cricket bat.

OP I come to this forum daily in THE HOPE that I AM WRONG.

If a DLC could just make the ending right, make it fit within the framework of the preestablished narratives, make it feel as meaningful and uplifting as the end of any of biowares previous games I will be ecstatic to have been wrong and I will happily and joyfully plunk down cash on every one of their ME3 DLC's because regardless of their quality they are now part of ME3 and if the ending is fixed then I want the full ME3 experience.

So I return here hoping I am wrong and hoping we'll see war assets in action, get a successful refuse, maybe get a Harbinger boss fight.

I hope. But I won't hold my breath because I believed in this company once and they really f**ked up.

Here.  I'll save you and people like you time.

Just leave.  Save yourself the grief and the pain.  YOU ARE NOT GOING TO GET WHAT YOU WANT.  EVER.

The line has already been drawn.  That you refuse to see that is not Bioware's problem anymore.

I'll leave when I am good and ready so suck it. I think I have established I know  I am not going to get what I want and I never intimated it was Biowares problem and I think I said the opposite of what you say I said.  I expect I will not get what I want but I hope I am wrong.

And you are not the boss of the internets so if I want to hang around and snipe at Bioware I will its the least they can do for me seeing as how I plunked down nearly 90 bucks for a collectors edition of a dead file on my computer.  Oh yeah and misery loves company.  Oh yeah and DAI is coming out and I am curious about it guess your stuck with me.

So... let me get this straight.

You come here every day... with what you claim is hope... knowing that hope is going to be dashed... then get pissy when someone points out how stupid that is?

Kay, bro. It just, ya know, would kinda make sense to NOT do something or go somewhere that you know is going to end in disappointment.  At that point, you really don't have anyone to blame but yourself.

But hey, if you WANT to be miserable; go ahead and be miserable man.  More power to you... I guess?

You come here every day, chemic, knowing that you are going to be wading through the remains of shattered dreams, and yet you keep visiting. Keep provoking people, poking them and trying to get them to lash back at you. What does that say about you?

On topic: I'd rather retain a healthy skepticism. Bioware's storytelling lately is...lacking. Despite Bioware's protests otherwise, I have yet to see them listening to feedback, much less doing anything. (I have not forgotten their lack of Twitter answers to anything other than praise, nor their rejection of the Towards A Concensus Survey; a survey THEY helped advertise.) They have stated loud and clear that they don't intend to fix the part of the game that keeps me from playing it. I don't see any way they can fix some of my other major issues with the game. (Character assassination, rampant autodialogue, and lack of RPG options spring to mind.) No. I will expect more of what we already got, and if, IF it turns out to be more than that, I'll allow myself to be pleasantly surprised.

You sure chemiclord's trying to get people to lash back? If I'd written a post lke that, I would have been hoping that frostajulie would finally see the light.

Hoping, not expecting.

It must be nice to be satisfied with how ME3 turned out and attack anyone that isn't. It also makes for a fun BSN.

That I'm a mean-spirited **** that enjoys drinking the bitter tears of pissed-off whiners who are so emotionally invested that their wounds are still fresh and raw even after one year... mostly because they keep ripping those wounds open rather than stop doing what is hurting them?

I mean, that's the answer you WANT to hear, so go ahead and run with it.

In seriousness though, this is kinda like the old joke where a patient does something and say, "Doc, it hurts when I do this."  The doc replies, "Then don't do that."

There just comes a point where... I'm sorry, but the fact that someone is still hurt and still bitter and still angry is on that person, and expecting someone else to make them NOT bitter and hurt and angry is beyond reasonable.  It's not going to happen.  If for no reason than to STOP FEELING LIKE THIS... just WALK AWAY.  Stop doing what is HURTING YOU.  Stop going where you know you're only going to FEEL MISERABLE.

If it really hurts as much as is claimed... WHY ARE YOU STILL HERE?

I'm just here to see how it all turns out. I am still invested in the series and will be until the last DLC, then I'll decide whether or not it's time to say farewell.

IIRC chemiclord doesn't like the endings too much. I'm pretty much OK with them ....   good intent but weak execution.

I wont be raging... I'll just shrug my shoulders and move on.  One day, if they don't do it, I WILL attempt to find a way to make that Harbinger DLC.

I don't get why there would be rage. Anyone expecting anything that Bioware has deliberatly shot down is delusional at this point.

It's such a waste of an emotion to be angry over a game one year later. At least the DLC will bring something new to talk about, maybe that's what this forum needs to get out of the same old loop.

I find it amusing that so many can't wait until people actually get angry enough that they take their money elsewhere.

As much as I try not to get my hopes up - whenever there is a DLC there is at least a glimmer of hope that this one might be the one that fixes all. However, I don't really expect it to be and I know I will be disappointed when I start reading peoples reviews on the upcoming DLC. I have not bought any of the DLC's before and I wont - unless this one is what I am hoping it will be. Then I will buy them all and play from #1 riiight through to the end.

I get the feeling this next, (and possibly last) DLC will be a make or break for many of the fans here.

What I am hoping is that this DLC is a $45.00 DLC.
Yup, this DLC + Omega + Leviathan.
Because if it does what I am hoping for that is precisely what will happen. I'll buy the other DLCs, because I'll have a reason to replay the entire series again.

What I am expecting is that it'll cost me and earn Bioware exactly $0.00.

The one thing the DLC will not give and I am 100% certain on this is any new ending choices, this includes no "Oh, it was all a dream" nonsense and no conventional or unconventional new ways to win. There will be no for example refuse equals win situation.

Whether or not Harbinger plays a role in the DLC I do not know but as long as if present would not be changing the ending choices and outcomes I suppose it is possible. Anyone pinning their hopes on new ending choices or Bioware dismissing the catalyst and current endings is in for disappointment.

A lot of people tell me not to get my hopes up about this latest DLC and I agree that I'm not going to get my hopes up.  However, you should bear in mind that you could very well be wrong about this latest DLC and what it has to offer.  Even Priestly, if you believe what he says, tells us that the DLC has grown by taking fan feed back into account.

Don't listen to Priestly, ever.
And Bioware see's stuff different than us, proven by the EC which missed the mark of competent story telling we wanted to fix the plot holes and plot.

If that's anything to go by then perhaps we will see the Mako again.  Perhaps Harbinger and the Collectors will return and we will see more meaningful choices with a few more ME2 squad mate appearences.  And who knows...maybe somewhere down the line they will re do priority:Earth or even Mass Effect 3 itself.

Setting yourself up for disappointment.

Why don't you flush out your negativity and think positive for once?  Perhaps with Leviathan and Omega they already had that DLC planned out and so there was no time to address the feedback but now with this DLC they do.

They had time with EC and they failed, they had plenty of time with Omega and it was the most overpriced crap ever.
So don't give people that line.

I know I'm likely to see responses such as "Don't get your hopes up" or "Have you seen Leviathan and Omega?"  Well, have you considered asking yourself the question "What if I am wrong?"   Yes, I understand that they have hyped ME3 up and we were mislead into thinking the game was more than it is.  Still, I think that Bioware still understands the importance of fan feed back.

In your opinion contrary of how they operated in the last year.
Nothing gives me the impression they care about how they butchered the game for a lot of the fans.

It's just unfortunate that they are not doing anything else with the ending unless that is misinformation as well, but I don't think so.  Again, I'm not getting my hopes up, but I'm just saying that you could be wrong.   I do find it peculiar that they are keeping this DLC tightly under wraps and are mum about it.

They usually always do before they want it to be known.
Don't get your hopes up.

Do you guys really think that Bioware fixes the ending?
They have stated numerous times that they won't, I also think that if the next dlc has an ending fix there should be some news of a certain Casey Hudson and Mac Walters leaving/ being replaced since they "conjured" this "artistic ending" they are to invested in it and won't change the ending and if they are forced to do so their heart will not be in it and it will be crap anyway.

In case you were wondering I hate the endings not because "bad "things happened and I didn't get to have an happy ending but because the ending broke narrative and negated every goddamned choice I made over 3 games.

I also wonder how people with such poor storytelling ability land jobs in such places, I whipped this outline out in a few hours and whilest it is by no means the best thing ever written on paper/internet it beats spacemagic anyday LOL:
