Hey guys, I just read all the threads concerning this problematic for the past few hours but now I still am very confused.
I am currently lvl 8 (just got combat stealth) with my DualWield Rogue (Elven Commoner) on Nightmare. I am playing SOLO, meaning no party whatsoever, also no ranger pet or anything like that.
Specialization will be ASSASSIN/DUELIST for maximum DPS.
I read through the DPS calculation for ROGUES thread and still don't really know:
I wanna go maximum DPS, stealthy-assassin style with this rogue, meaning backstabbing like crazy, using coup de grace etc.
For weapons I think I'm going for Roses Thorn and Starfang but I don't quite know yet.
SOO the question is: Should I use a CUNNING BUILD (meaning 20 STR for Wardens Commander Armor and 36 DEX for RosesThorn) with Lethality or a DEX BUILD (CUN 22 for MAster Stealth, everything else into DEX)
What would give me the higher survivability/higher dps with my nightmare solo rogue?
Thanks in advance!
What is the right stat allocation for a NM solo DW rogue?

For a solo build dexterity is really the only choice. Cunning is higher DPS but without high defense a rogue won't last long solo.
Starfang isn't a particularly good rogue weapon, solo or with a party, since it is slow and so many of a rogue's backstab talents add fixed amounts of damage. Dead Thaig Shanker, Crow dagger, or Thorn of the Dead Gods would all be better choices as would almost any tier 6 or 7 dagger.
I would highly recommend you switch your race to dwarf for a rogue solo run. The 10% spell resistance offers massive utility and, in the right gear, the ability to become completely immune to spells. This utility is indispensable for some encounters.
