So, I'm posting this here, 'cause you guys know everything... That's right. Everytime that I need something or just pass my time I come to BSN.

Alright then, I'm gonna ask this: do you think I'm ready for Gold? :?

social.bioware.com/n7hq/ Here is my manifest...

Also, if the answer is yes, what do you guys suggest on Builds for Batarian Sentinel, which is the current one that I'm trying to complete?

Thanks!

Recommend that you ask this question in the multiplayer forums.

I haven't seen you play so can't tell.

But based purely on the Manifest you're ready.

Regarding builds for Baterian Sentinel, I'm not the one to ask about builds. Try the multi player section.

If you're really struggling with Gold, Krogan Vanguard and any pyro character are the perfect complement to players who aren't that great on higher difficulties. People like me can do pretty well with a pyro or Krogan Vanguard.

If you want help with multiplayer watch Jumpin Productions.
He has great tips, great builds and great guides for various weapons.

Whether or not you are ready for Gold depends more on you and the friends you play with rather than specific unlocks in a manifest.

Personally I couldn't recommend Batarian Sentinel for starting out in Gold because I think it is a poor class. You can do alright with it using some gimmicks, but the Batarian Soldier or Vanguard are probably easier to play.

The trouble with capn233 and I suggesting classes is that you personally might perform worse with those classes.

For example, I was advised to use infiltrators exclusively. I'm terrible with infiltrators for some reason. I soon discovered that Vorcha Sentinel, N7 Paladin Sentinel, Krogan Vanguard and N7 Demolisher were my strongest classes.

So for all I know, you have truly found your epic class. That one character that you can outclass other players with. That one class where you can easily thrash Gold matches with.

Once you go to Gold or Platinium, you'll find yourself ditching classes that you're not comfortable with. For example when I try classes like the Volus Adept, I find myself being carried by the team (not much fun for me), but when I play Vorcha Sentinel I'm smashing Gold without too much trouble. Another player might be amazing with the Volus adept but woeful with a Vorcha Sentinel.

So if you're absolutely certain that the Baterian Sentinel is your personal kick ass character, go for it!

For the time being, my advice would be to avoid classes that rely a lot on weapon damage.
The rare and ultra rare weapons are still at low levels.

I have heard of people who claim to beat platinium with a level 1 predator. Must take an eternity.
But for guys like us who don't have those insane skills, the higher difficulties are about two things.

High level rare/ultra rare weapons combined with a very high level of proficiency.

By proficiency I mean knowing where all the spawns are going to be, planning effectively for each wave, having the right strategy for each situation and being able to survive a lot of punishment whilst killing foes very quickly.

If you have low dps with your build, you're going to be letting the team down. Players using some of the more overpowered setups with higher levels weapons and equipment will straight up out perform you.

You'll find yourself at the bottom of the score board recieving only a fifth of the points of the person in 3rd place.
That is exactly why I stick to the classes I work best with. I don't like it when I contribute 5% of the kills on the team. It ruins my confidence and sapps my will to play the game. At least when I play as my most proficient characters I can gain a respectable score and feel like I actually contributed something.

Gold is pretty challenging.

Also some players have much slower learning curves than others.
We need to get tons of practice on lower difficulties before going for Gold/Platinium.

Given that this game is also a damage per second fest, you can feel pretty useless if you can't kill a Praetorian in less than 20 seconds (without using missiles)

Oh but that's why you have a team. If say I have a falcon equipped, I'll just focus on crowed control while I let the dps freaks take care of the bigger guys. I might not have really high scores, but that doesn't matter.

Only play on Gold now, but I AM having trouble even attempting Platinum. I guess I'm just too lazy to learn all the little tricks and only play for the lulz.

while i know nothing of batarians because i refuse to use them, here's my two cents on being ready for gold.

i felt ready to swtich to gold when doing silver duos became too easy. so maybe give that a try. ask a friend to team up and play silver just the two of you. do a few matches and if you're able to breeze through them consistently without either of you getting knocked down during the whole game, i think you're in good shape to up the challenge.

also, always use characters you're most comfortable with when initially switching into gold, equipped with a gun that works for you and that you know how to control and use it to your advantage.

Play a round or two with one of the more resilient classes (salarian engineer, asari justicar, human sentinel, for example) to get a feel for the damage scaling and enemies' time-to-kill against you. That gives you a better judgment on how long you can stay out of cover, the amount of risk you can take on, and how to position much better than glass cannon builds or infiltrators who either go down too quickly for you to really learn anything, or don't get shot as much. It's little coincidence many of the more resilient classes also have high levels of utility, meaning you can set up and lean on your teammates much more justifiably than if you're playing something like an infiltrator.

Batarians, mind you, aren't exactly on that list of resilient classes, because while they get blade armor and have high levels of health and shields, they don't have the smallest hitboxes or highest manveuverability.
