I actually got 2nd place score with one of these little guys once, in a platinum.
If you did, one thing is for certain, neither the decoy nor the drone did much killing so you' have to have been using some overpowered gun pimped out with consumables and have poor squad mates to boot.

Heavy melee says high. I'm biased, but I like the Saboteur for that reason alone. He deserves stim packs more than the ghost though.(Assuming anybody deserves them.)
Yeah, a bit like having a potential 8 more squad ops packs, isn't it (with a damage boost to boot). The fact that they were given to an infiltrator... wouldn't have happened on my watch, to put it that way.
Nice watch you got there.
Playing the Tsoldier last night I imagined a complete retcon, giving the stim packs to the turians with no dodge instead of the ones with jetpacks.

I assume this is a version of the "a good player can do well with any kit" argument. It's true of course. Doesn't make classes like the Volus Sentinel any less satisfying to play. Because that's what it's mostly about, to me anyway. You can bring a good gun to the two highest difficulties, spam shield boost and do great with the Volus Sentinel. But fun? Fun is had from combining powers with your weapon. Knowing when to use your powers to your advantage is a major part of this game, take this away and you're close to any generic shooter. Two of the Volus Sentinel's powers don't contribute in any meaningful way (at least not on gold and plat), and buffing said powers would've made him more fun to play.

I beg to differ. If you use him right, you can top the scoreboard with him. I would know.
Most people assume the Volus are bad simply because they don't know how to use them.
Ah, the old "loll2pscrubiscoresouperhiwithhimusuckbro" arguement.
People have topped platinum scoreboards with level 1 characters using common weapons. In other news, your post is so utterly meaningless it's not even funny.

I'd actually say the Saboteur has more synergy than people think, just not directly.
When playing against Geth or Cerberus, he can become a lean, mean suppression machine. Forgoe Homing Grenades and fully spec out Sabotage and Turret as you please (Flamer-Turret and Duration or Multi-Sabotage work well). Then, hack a Cerberus Turret/ATLAS/Geth when a group forms and then throw a Turret down on the opposite end. Your sabotaged pawns will scatter the group, while your Turret finishes them off!usually doesn't play out as easilly as you'd imagine.never happens.
fix'd

He's just boring. Decent damage output but what can he do that other soldiers can do better and with more dynamic options? I use him effectively for mowing things down, but the geth and turian mows things downgs down bettet. Havoc can cause just that on groups and batarian can out stun geth hunters while laughing at their offense. Humans can demolish and detonate anything with CS plus regen shields. Destroyer has marksman built in to DM and like the krogan and batarian can destroy groups while tanking.
QMM cant tank nor are his passives touching a turian or batarian's. Hes not garbage or even bad at all. Just underwhelmming.

See, I disagree with the statement(s) that the Quarian marksman is worthless. I spec him for maximum weapon/headshot damage and I consistently top the charts. With Tac scan and marksman set for accuracy, headshot damage, rate of fire, and with his passive abilities set for max weapon damage, he kills. Pair his abilities with a Pheaston with piercing and ammo upgrades and yu rip thru enemies. Especially the ole big heads themselves, the Collectors. scions, and collector troops fall like chaff when I step to spraining' with this character, I put three raw into saratoga just to screw its torrents and Geth. But thanks for the input so far.

Lots of people dont understand the sabotuer. He's a fighter from afar. Slap a good sniper rifle or staggerlocking weapon on him and you can control maps like a general. I go shock, ice, rocket for turret, damage for sabo, and DoT for homing. Just to prove people wrong, I bring Disruptor ammo on a Krysae or run a Saber/BW when Im going tryhard. classes are what you make of them.
Despite my disappointment with the Marksman, Ive got a damn good boss slaying build for him.
It's possible to run any class effectively if you spend the time and patience, but the simple fact is that the Turian Saboteur is a dramatically underpowered class riddled with bugs. If I slap my Saber X on him, he's great for general combat - but if I do the same on the Human Engineer, I'll accomplish significantly more, with a helper that's actually good at general combat, and powers that actually synergize with each other. Shock/Ice/Rocket seems great, but you've hamstrung your rocket damage by going for shock, hamstrung your turret's bullet damage by going for its buggy cryo ammo, and on a class that's already suffering due to underpowered weapon options that do not have correct damage algorithms (the shock is supposed to do extra damage to shield/barriers, flamethrower is supposed to do extra damage to armor, etc) you're honestly hindering yourself.
If I want a class that can run tactical support or battlefield control, there's tacitly better options. Quarian Engineers of either gender provide better battlefield support and coverage, with the QFE boasting solid fire explosion capability and the QME being a solid battle supporter with scan, incinerate, and grenades. Quarian Infiltrators handle subversion better, with the QFI boasting better use of Sabotage and a superior anti-armor grenade that actually gets benefits from cloaking, and the QMI offering scan, grenades, and cloak all in one package. Human Infiltrators handle armor debuffing and destruction better than the Saboteur, since the Cryo debuff actually works for their weapons and cloak can buff sticky nades, whilst Human Engineers have a better support option and access to fire explosions and shield-busting without even needing grenades. In short, every power the Saboteur has is better-used by another class that can make use of it; Sabotage is better on the Marksman and QFI, Homing Grenades are vastly superior on the Demolisher and Drell Infiltrator, and Sentry Turret is underpowered garbage in general, but the QFE has less need to overtly rely on it.
BONUS: Tactical Scan's headshot damage bonus is nonfunctional.

Okay, I officially hate iPad's auto spell correct. It makes for some really interesting posts though. In the defense of the Volus Sentinal, I have never used him due to the shield boost being better utilized on the Volus Engineer. I do wish Vioware would give us their mind set behind setting up the characters the way that they did. And for all you who think the Quarian Marksman sucks, send me an invite and we will play together. I'll show you he isn't the worst class out there. But remember, as was said before, no really bad classes, just really bad players.
i just did a uug, q-marksman and ended up with reaper / rio. there may have been a glitch because i started wave 2 with 2 other players and played waves 3, 4, 5, 6 and died on 7 with just one other player. nobody else joined. weird.
q-marksman is the most truly worstest most useless character of all!!!. why? both tacscan and marksman are complete garbage powers... and the phaeston is horrible. i had phaeston 10, normal ap mod with extended mag... vulnerabilty 3, headshot 5, disruptor 4 and cyclonic 3. it took the whole clip to take down brutes and ravagers (yes i was aiming at the head and the tiny area / head under the ravager's "eye"). with marksman and its ugly hazy screen on! i unloaded about 1/2 a clip on a banshee's head to take its last 2 bars of armor off. yes, as i mentioned earlier, the game may have been glitched cuz i was surprised at this.
i agree that anyone with decent skills should be able to do well with a level 20 character. and this guy is the worst of all those level 20 characters. marksman is annoying in that you have to keep pressing it every 6 or so seconds and tacscan is junk because it takes too long to initiate and that time is better spent using real powers or bullets to destroy your enemies (by the time you've initiated tacsan, things could have been dead or almost dead)... and tacscan only focuses on one enemy.
a character that totally outdoes the q-marksman in every way, shape and cooler robotic form is gethgineer specced for killing turret, no overload and weapon evolutions in the passive and hunter mode (even though i take further seeing / movement on evo 6 and i know hm is worse on the screen than marksman). no need to keep pressing the dumb marksman button to get its benefits. i've been using up my smg 3 mods with the csmg 10 using gethgineer and turian soldier specced out of marksman with shatter / shredder to use up my cryo ammo... and slowly get the the most truly worstest banner, council operative.
saboteur gets a runner up medal for your title thanks to sabogarbage, super slow homing nades and the inferior sentry turret.
are you on ps3? i'd love to play the volsent while you play q-marksman. we can laugh have some good times... the whole point of playing this silly game.
in all honesty, thanks for the suggestion and i'm glad you like him. that's all that matters is fun. just like some people have an easier time with collectors than geth... but for some reason, the toughest to complete is a platinum collectors, not geth, setup.

the turian sabateur is more soldier than engineer, thats all.
volus sentinal's combat drone is pretty good, and decoy works fine if you place it in the middle of a corridor, so the enemies have to walk near it, getting stunned and then they notice it.
vorcha hunter, his only problem is that he doesnt have goggles.
bat sent? hate surf? how is he bad?
quarian marksman lol no. just dont equip the shuriken or predator and you cant go wrong.
edit: QFE? obvious troll is obvious

Decoy is garbage, and has been since it was changed. If you want something that draws fire, the Sentry Turret will do a better job and last longer as part of the bargain - and the Sentry Turret's underpowered garbage.
But none of it's ever getting fixed, since suggesting that anyone fix anything in this game gives certain users the fawking vapors.
Asking for a fix is fine. Even suggesting one is fine, too.
But demanding a fix and attacking the devs is just complete bull**** and you know it.

ha ha. q-marksman has the game's three worstest powers in one kit... and he's a weakling with nothing neat like stability, movement or rage.
pull and lash are junk too but fun to use.
