Hey incest is not that bad. I mean, look at all the Greek gods. All those folks were conceived from incest and that turned out okay! Right? Right?
Edit: I might as well add the Lannisters to that list as well.
The Lannister-kids turned out right? They TURNED OUT RIGHT?! HELL NO

I would not, however, want to see them purely for fanservice, they should have a clear role and differ based on their fate in Dragon Age 2.
Having them as romance wouldn't bother me one bit. I don't care emuch for Carver personally though I do like the lad, but I'm a thrid person roleplayer so I have to issues with romacning Bethany at all - with my new coming PC.

It would a bit too weird for me to romance her since I roleplayed as Hawke and see her as nothing more than a sister.

Well to be fair Joffrey was the only one who turned out to be a sociophatic hell spawn.

Yes, but it would still be weird to romance a sibling character. The feeling I had for her as Hawke would still be there. I would rather for them to create new characters.Knight of Dane wrote...

Unless you want to scrap the Save Import system. In which case... sure, why not.

This pretty much sums up why bringing...any of the siblings back for LI's is a bad idea. Bethany and Carver should just be cameos at best and even then their are much better choices for people to come back than the Hawke siblings. I agree that DA:I should be more focus on new characters rather than bringing back old ones.

I know a lot of young men who like Virgins because virgins are said to be more pleasurable because of the tightness of certain reproductive parts. Also, they see virginity as a prize.Joy Sauce wrote...
"Liara's better than Ashley because she seems more virginal,"
"Tali would make a great LI and she's probably a virgin,"
"I want to **** Bethany because she's a virgin,"
Ick, ick, ick. Going on about how hot virgins are, you might as well wear a t-shirt that says,"I'm a creepy pervert," on it. And why do so many dudes think inexperienced girls make better lovers, it's flat illogical.
Also Bethany may die twice over the course of a game, it wouldn't make sense to bring her or Carver back as a full companion or LI. And as for Charade? She was in like one quest, who cares about her? I'd rather have some interesting new characters on my team than a bunch of former NPCs.

In my mind the dead sibling is supposed to stay dead. In which case DA:I would either get a replacement(Charade?) or have an empty slot.Fast Jimmy wrote...
For the record, my canon Mage Hawke would have a problem with you having sex with his dead sister.

Can't really see why someone else's issues should affect those of us that doesn't feel the same way, just don't romance her - but I can respect it.BombThatDeadGuy wrote...

I was just expressing an opinion on the subject matter. I wouldn't romance her, but if people want to, it's not my problem really. Of course what we want at this point has no relevant to who the actual LIs are since Mr. Gaider stated that he had already decided who the LIs are. He also stated a dislike for people who want to romance Bethany/Carver, so I doubt he would have her in the game as a LI.Knight of Dane wrote...

I have learned in Games Design and Visual Design that there is no such thing as "unrealistic" in games, only "highly unlikely" ^^
Any good writer and/or programmer should be able to solve such complications, that's their job after all.
So it all really boils down to "resources" and "time" in that regard.

Everyone has pretty much said what I'd have to say about it. I think we're tired of death retcons by now, and creating a whole new companion who won't be accessible to a good portion of the players just because of the class they chose in the previous game is too much work for too little of a pay off.
The Hawke I intend to import was a mage.

Ugh, gross, twice now someone has tried to explain it to me. It's not neccessary, I do understand, it was more intended as a rhetorical statement than an actual question, hence the lack of question mark. You might notice that I used the word 'illogical' and since when has logic ever played a role in people's sexual preferences? I'll also add that the whole 'tightness' thing is largely an urban myth, age and whether or not a woman's given birth play much larger roles than experience. TMI much?DomRod95 wrote...
