All this talk about the Saber is making me sad. Especially since I still haven't unlocked it after almost a year.

Its really good on HE and FQE...

HE with Incendiary/AP ammo, FQE with Disruptor ammo...

I've always loved the weapon... it takes skill, it's not an I-WIN button like the Harrier/PPR... it makes you work for it.

It does lack a bit vs bosses though... unless you have Marksman, then it's just insane.

Some weapon is good on Tsol. Big surprise right here.

On a serious note: it's average at best. Harrier, PPR, Hurricane, CSMG, Typhoon, Piranha or Raider can do much better job. Even if you can land a headshot every time you aim at something, it still greatly outperformed by these guns. The only reason to use it on some kit - personal preferences. Other than that it's not worth it. Some good player soloing with doesn't make it any better. Besides, I see at least 25 kills with Pistol, which I presume was Acolyte or Scorpion against Phantoms. So, it's not "saber only" solo.

It's not that heavy. I believe my engineer is at 141% cooldown whilst using it. So he is happy.

Saber does need a buff, mostly just to tighten the damage range on the lower leveled side. It does just too little damage to be worth using until you have it at a fairly high level. Now that I finally have it at X, though, it is lovely.

People who's play style doesn't fit the weapon. And since they can't conceive of the concept there are other ways to play it obviously must suck.

Yeah, my problem with the Saber (fortunately, it's at X) is that I still need more practice with my aim to take advantage of the MM rate of fire buff.

i use it on the turian sentinel usually
people that say it isn't a good weapon just don't know how to play

You don't need Tsol to make Saber a great gun. I never use Tsol but Saber is still my favourite gun.

It's also great on Hsol, because you chain the clips with AR and get the damage buff.

The Destroyer and the Geth get the RoF increase and in their hands Saber really becomes an autocannon. I sometimes use it even on Paladin to combine Paladin's debuffing and Saber's long-range capabilities.

Saber is a highly versatile gun and it's effectiveness is more down to the player than the kit.

Awesome gun and favorite AR. At X it is light enough to take on engineers and sentinels if you want a gun with some punch. The only thing I'd change, and I believe someone in this thread already mentioned it, is to reduce the reticule bloom after each shot so that chaining headshots together is more practical.

Best assault/sniper rifle variant. Put EA + HVB V on TGI with Incendiary ammo Mark4 & you're ready to fire explode whole world.
