Yes, I checked. Rocket Troopers are armed with some analog of ML-77, which is a weapon. Pyros also sport M-451, which is not a power. So seeker swarms will only affect Hunters and Primes.
A group of abominations can easily be taken down by Pyros and/or Bombers.
On the other hand, Collector Troopers have CSMG LXXVIII (bonus damage against armour) and grenades, so they are effective against those Pyros and Bombers.
Collector Troopers are easily trumped by Rocket Troopers, which are in turn nearly helpless against Scions, especially Possessed ones, and can't fend off Abominations as effectively.
Primes are probably stronger than Praetorians because the latter are prone to stagger. Though if Prime can't deploy its pets, Praetorian still has a chance.
Needs testing.

Oh my! This would be interesting to watch.

Simulate head to head matches, or a straight up four-way battle?

I vote for 4-way, using normal wave compositions and budgets (Gold).

Lorewise : Reapahs
In MP : Geth and its not even close. They don't waste their times assassinating someone, they just beat you down to a pulp.

BioWare should think about making a RTS game of the 4 factions :D

None of the other factions would be able to overcome geth DPS and stagger. Maybe if you added scions and phantoms to the reapers.

I'd like to see geth ("true" geth after receiving intelligence from Legion and alliance with Shepard) take on Reapers in London.

Cerberus easily. Turrets, Phantoms, Atlas mega-shields/cannon/rockets of doom, Guardians blocking everything that's thrown at them due to stupid AI, grenade spam, Nemesis everywhere, suicide Dragoons stunlocking the living ****** outta everything...

Remember that no enemy units have inherent cover-piercing weapons. Thus, Guardians would utterly destroy normal enemy units.

Geth. Let's use our present day military for comparison

To me,
Cerberus are like a special ops team. Hi tech, deadly assassins, strong support crews
Reapers...like a WW2 land army. Good infantry, brutal artillery and lumbering tanks
Collectors...an incredibly pesky guerrilla force. Fanatical suicide attackers, pesky swarms and the ability to deal out some deadly attacks in a very short period of time.

the Geth
They are a carrier group. The Prime obviously being the carrier.

All other factions will come at each other in waves hoping to wipe the other out first. The Geth? They'll get 2 primes, surround them with Pyros and Rocket troopers, send out wave after wave of bombers and Hunters. Then they will slowly, purposefully, cold bloodedly move through the map. After the Hunters and Bombers have taken out the mooks, the Primes will deploy their stun lock trolls and pulverize everything they slowly see with rocket fire and prime pew pews. Anything which gets even remotely close gets melted by Flamers.

Brutes and Banshees? Burnt alive. Atlases? Rocketed before they can turn their fat asses. Phantoms? What Phantoms...stunlocked so much they'll look like they are having permanent orgasms. Praetorians? Absolutely impotent against a swarm of Bombers and Hunters. The only unit which could disrupt this unstoppable force could be a bunch of possessed Scions firing their 500 'nade spread from afar before they get rocketed to death. That nade spread could just be the only thing which sinks this carrier group since they are so slow moving.

Cerberus turrets say: Lolwut?
Engineers say: Imma hide behind this atlas and repair it!
Atlas say: Lol damage.

Guardians can be staggered if enough force is applied. So a shot from Ravager/Scion/Prime would be enough to shake them and make them vulnerable for the next two shots. Also, Banshees' Nova should stagger them too. Or any grenade-throwing units (Cannibals, Collector Troopers, Possessed Scions, Bombers) landing a grenade behind them will surely kill them.

No really. You think a turret can take a 3 blast Prime pew pew? You think any engie can repair an Atlas fast enough to survive a triple tape from 4 rocket troppers (12 rocketgasm!!!) and what Atlast damage? They literally will cease to exist in the blink of an eye

Cerberus engineers can repair an Atlas faster then players can DPS it.
Geth will just blindly target the Atlas and the turrets will handle the rest.
Even then phantoms will kill everything but the primes. Now how is a single prime going to out DPS an atlas with an engineer.
Not to mention that they'll have a tough time trying to crack guardians.
All the while getting pummled from dragoons and grenades.

Um, Guardians will be mailslotted by any enemy. AI has pinpoint accuracy, so no stagger needed. Also Hunters flank & GPS will mailslot a guardian. The case has already been made for grenades. Cerberus would fold very fast against Geth & Collectors, while Reapers would probably decimate all boss units with Ravager volleys and Brutes & Banshees would take care of enemy infantry. Cerberus is weakest against others IMO.

I'd have to say Collectors sheer damage output would trump any other faction, unless their wave budget is exhausted primarily by abominations dying out of range from the enemy.

On a Gold wave by wave basis, someone should do a breakdown of which faction would win which wave based on spawn budgets and force diversity. I'd guess it would go back and forth between Geth and Collectors. Wave 1 Geth. Wave 2 Collectors. Wave 3 ?

Think carrier group. 2 Primes surrounded by rocketeers and pyros. Which phantom or dragoon is getting close? Which guardian will survive once they get stunlocked and exposed ONCE. Regarding Atlases. Comeon they are widely accepted as the easiest boss unit to take down. No if you are talking Cerberus VS Geth it there really is no contest. Dont forget you're still missing merc tactics VS hive mind co-ordination. Really...no contest.

Like I said before the only faction which comes close is Collectors. And even then only because of possessed scions

game fiction vs game fiction, or based on actual in-game behavior / mechanics?

Fiction wise, you gotta go reapers. But game mechanics wise, you got to go collectors. Scion has a prime-like stunlock, and a possessed scion's grenades are going to really mess up the other factions. A possessed praetorian is going to cause a lot of problems for the other factions, and the quantity of abominations and seeker swarms is really going to hamper the other factions ability to be effective.

Well... It depends on how effective nemesis are at stripping armor. Don't forget they do not have the shield/health gates we do... So a minor annoyance for us could well be a death sentence for them.

I think the geth vs cerberus would be pretty even but in the end got to go with cerberus. Reapers probably beat both geth and cerberus. I do think it would be really funny watching a banshee chase a nemesis around. Overall I don't see the collectors losing to any of the other factions so i would put my money on them. It does make me wonder and this idea comes to mind every time I see one of these types of threads but how hard would it be for BW to actually do something like this? I would love to watch these factions fight each other or allow us to play as those units.

I agree I'd love to be able to spin up a X faction points match and see them go to town on each other.

I'd love a dev kit that lets us do that. like gmod. this would trump ME4 for me.

Why not a game mode where two people choose number of waves, wave budgets, factions, "builds" (starting 8 units and replacement strategies), and then pit the AIs against each other? Even Reapers vs. Collectors wouldn't be lore-breaking because we can always say that either Reapers or Collectors were indoctrinated by Leviathans.

Interesting thing about guardians.  Force applying powers cannot knock back their shields while someone is firing on said shield.  So a single geth turret, trooper, or hunter firing on said guardian will make them completely immune to being exposed.  And applying more force from the front while the shield is knocked aside will just lock them into the unexposed stagger animation.  Unless the Geth figure out to flank them (and remember, the AI is is dumb) they have a total of 0 units that can beat a guardian from the front.

Atlases are easy because players are smart.  We avoid them or use cover against them.  The AI is dumb as bricks.  The Geth will try their usual "walk up to them while firing" tactic and get roflstomped.

oh yes, the moment bioware releases a game like that is the moment I forget all my other games. especially with more maps. I know the map has a huge influence on which faction will fare the best against whatever other is thrown at it.

Geth Bomber. While not exactly from the front, this small thing can easily outflank guardians and throw 5 grenades at them, which they are unable to dodge.
