Yeah, I'd like something like this. This would be so useful in a game like Skyrim where I spend a lot of time managing my inventory, going from vendor to vendor buying and selling, and organzing loot in my houses. A bus ride home would be more productive. If the inventory system in DA3 is more complex (we have a castle to run), this could be so useful.spaletz wrote...
I think it was Chris Avellone from obsidian who said he was working on trying to socialize the single player RPG. I feel like if done properly this could be a good thing for the genre.
If Dragon Age III had an app for my phone that allowed me to organize my inventory, character equipment, and even buy things from merchants (like in game things, not DLC), I feel like that could be a fun way to track my progress and do some micromanaging that I wouldnt need to then do when I played the game next.
A trading marketplace would be especially nice for console versions of DA3 that can't download mods. Kinda like the Sims 3 (another EA game) that uses this trading feature on both consoles and computers. A place to download PC character models or an uploaded castle interior design or something, perhaps some sort of customized armor and weapons. I don't know exactly what they're doing with DA3 on the customization front, but from some of the surveys it sounds good and much more than anything in DA:O or DA2 or in any of the ME games. Also I think it would be cool to have a trading marketplace Valve style with in-game items that you can trade with other players online.
I think these are good ideas.

Why should a game only be either singleplayer or multiplayer? Why can't both options be equally viable? Just because you don't want one of them?DinoSteve wrote...

Because usually one gets neglected. Put 100% of your resources into one, and (at least in theory) this shouldn't be an issue.
A single player game should strive to be just that, a single player game.

Would be handy when I want to get away from people at work. Or get away from, you know, work.
Edit: By the way, I really liked the ME3 app. I thought getting mail from NPC's outside the game was clever and I enjoyed it. I would be happy to see that happen with DA:I.

I wouldn't worry too much. Most of the games that I have played that have 'multiplayer' or 'social' options are just that, options. Much like in-game romances...
If they force it upon you, well, I guess that fundamentally changes the kind of game it is. Then it's just a matter of deciding whether you will stand for it or not. I think this would be disappointing for DA personally, so I'm with you on that.

Something like e.g. in Darksiders 2, where people can trade their items via some kind of mailbox would be enough.

No, you aren't. SP games should stay SP. If you want to give something a multiplayer aspect, make it a spinoff so it doesn't take up time/effort/disk space.

with MMO's it would make alittle more sense but even then it would be annoying and pointless.

you know what... they stopped doing that sort of thing... insted of making a new game completely ment for MP they just tack in on an existing game....
I think the last one to do it iwas SM40k. And in all honesty the TPS is great and fun.
Cause in reality they are going to have to make the SP game into a exact copy of the MP game in order for people to get used to it.
The only thing I can see that can be done for MP is make it a MMO clone for controls. And guess what... we can play F2P MMOs for that sort of thing.
Basicly it will be a battleground type game from a MMO for DA3.
Why dont they just make a DA:Online game and make it there. (oh thats right there last MMO failed because of lack of end game and really PVP and other things. )

Multiplayer often has a separate budget, unconnected from the budget for the single-player campaign. That was the case for ME3, the multiplayer system was developed by a different team altogether.xAmilli0n wrote...

Do you have a source for that? It seems like something very out of character for Chris Avellone to say.

No. All this MP must be in every single game ever created stuff is horrible. Especially when games get slammed in reviews for not having an MP mode. SP RGPS should not have MP! Doesn't the new Bioshock not have MP anymore? Nice to see someone remove it from their game.

So they should do it that way just because its always been done that way? Okay.Asch Lavigne wrote...
You want to manage your inventory on your phone? Is there some reason you can't do it in game like everyone else and every other game?
