I guess it clarifies the confusion, especially after "King Alistair". If I could inquire, does it delve more into the lore of the Dalish?

It gives a summary of the history of each race and then individual chapters deal with their respective attitudes to magic, religion, the Fade etc. The timeline also helps to clarify the history of Arlathan and the fall of the Dales.

A bit. It gives a few Elven phrases, and describes the Aravels a bit more - apparently many of the Dalish alive today are descended from old Elven nobility, and  the cloths and banners that decorate the landships are the banners from those Dalish Nobles' family homes in Halamshiral, before the Exalted March of the Dales. I thought that was a nice little detail. It also says that the Halla were once the mounts of  Elven Warriors known as the Emerald Knights. It does re-emphasise that much Dalish lore has been lost.

There might be more yet, I'm only half way through

I know that, but i'm just talking about the timeline,not the entire book.

Any info on lesser known things like maybe countries we haven't heard much about or cities in the Free Marches? I want to know how much lore the book explores on material we don't have contact with. What are the new in character excerpts/codex entries like?

I wonder if they need to be more precise for the new engine...

And there's a naked lady in your picture , Ladyofpayne.
It disturbs me ...I mean lorewise , I can't explain that.
Maybe a bear ate her clothes while she was bathing in the river ?

It's the Bracilian Forest Ruins where you find the Lady of the Forest.

The naked lady can be dryad or spriggan.

I like the descriptions of the Fade, those fiery skeleton things are the souls of the dreamers wandering around in there, each one disappears as the dreamer wakes up to begin another day. Creepy stuff.

It's really strange about dreamers ...I sense some crazy theory material in this.
Their souls appears as dead while they sleep ...remind me of Uthenera which always sounds like a kind of funeral and not just ancient elves doing their best impression of Sleeping Beauty.

Concept artists often use photos in their art so they don't have to paint time consuming things.

That does not necessarily mean the game is planned to be photorealistic.

hmm I have my copy but not totally convinced that one part of the timeline is right. If I am right I would say The Calling book started in 9:10 which is the same time the wardens came back to Fereldan. But it says that Maric and a band of wardens thrawted the Architect in 9:14 which cant be right as from reading the book it cant have happened 4 years later as I cant really see Logain looking for Maric for 4 years
and there are mentions of the griffins
