Hope Darkhorse decides to be nice and release a digital copy, because it seems that's the only way I'll be able to get it otherwise. :<

hmm I have my copy but not totally convinced that one part of the timeline is right. If I am right I would say The Calling book started in 9:10 which is the same time the wardens came back to Fereldan. But it says that Maric and a band of wardens thrawted the Architect in 9:14 which cant be right as from reading the book it cant have happened 4 years later as I cant really see Logain looking for Maric for 4 years
and there are mentions of the griffins

From the Wiki: Dragon Age: The Calling... is set approximately fourteen years after King Maric Theirin and his companions ventured into the Deep Roads as described in Dragon Age: The Stolen Throne and eleven years after the Orlesian occupation of Ferelden was brought to an end at the close of the Blessed Age.
King Maric ventured into the Deep Roads for the first time in 8:99-9:00, so looks perfectly plausible to me.

Maybe but still David Gaider said Cailan was 5 and that Rowan had been dead for 2 years when the calling started so still not convinced

The question was about 9:14 with no context. Taking out only that one date -- it's completely plausible, as I said. I don't have the book yet to see the dates of other events, and I'm not a telepath. Taking into consideration the whole group of dates posted in several other topics already -- yes, it does look weird. Either The Calling timeline along with the following corrections (about Cailan being five) is totally incorrect or the World of Thedas one. And with all that army of editors hunting for continuity mistakes in the World of Thedas I don't want to believe they could have missed this one, so it must be correct. But then it undermines the whole Calling book along with this DLC description, where Duncan became Ferelden's Commander of the Grey in 9:10 Dragon (which looks even more weird than all the rest).

I think now I'm even more confused than before the WOT release :crying:

Rogue Pack 2

Codex text

Duncan became Ferelden's Commander of the Grey in 9:10 Dragon, assuming the mantle from Commander Polara, under whom he had served since the order's restoration in Ferelden.

Polara, who hailed from Antiva, had built an amiable relationship with King Cailan. She overcame many of the objections of Teyrn Loghain, who had argued strenuously against the order returning—after all, the Wardens had attempted to overthrow the Ferelden throne centuries before.

When Polara disappeared—perhaps recalled to Weisshaupt, although none in Ferelden saw her leave, nor have seen her since—Duncan bequeathed to her son a silverite axe of great value. Duncan said he had wielded it and a twin in younger days, back when he had been a far different man. He'd named the axe "Fiona" after a Warden who inspired him, and suggested that the son ought to take similar inspiration from his mother.

It's unknown what became of Polara's son, other than that he fled Ferelden during the same Blight in which Duncan perished.

If this is right the Calling took place in 9:10 and not 9:14. This was in the codex from Dragon Age 2

And where did the link I posted lead to, I wonder

And no, it doesn't prove anything really. Or you seriously think that it is possible to meet Genevieve, go to the Deep Roads, fight the Architect and Remille, restore the order of the Grey in Ferelden, put Polara in charge who has enough time "to build an amiable relationship with King Cailan, overcome many of the
objections of Teyrn Loghain, who had argued strenuously against the
order returning", then dissapear so that Duncan is appointed -- all in the course of one -- 9:10 -- year? Not to mention "younger days" of weilding axes being a differeng person... just a couple of months ago. Right.

Looks like a misprint more than anything else.

I don't think they would add that codex to a DLC item unless it had some importance. I'm assuming that Polara may have been commander of Fereldan for a few months before Fiona and Duncan came back.

...and built an amiable relationship with King Cailan. Who was five then and was far from being called "King", as, you know, Maric was the King at the time.

Think it may have been a typo on the king Cailan part or they included King Cailan so we would recognise who they were talking about. It may have been a mother and son relationship but we won't know until the writer or devs tell us

How can the WOT say that the Wardens and Maric thwarted the Architect 9:14??  In The Stolen Throne, it sounds like they entered the Deep Roads in 8:96 Blessed,(the year that Moira was murdered) and the Orlesian Occupation ended in 8:99-9:00. 14 years from 8:96 and 11 years from 8:99 both lead to 9:10 Dragon. And in The Calling. Maric mentions that Queen Rowan died 2 years prior and Cailan being 5 years old. It's been established that she died in 9:08 and Cailan was born in 9:05, making the events of The Calling occurring in 9:10.

Also, in the WOT timeline, it said that Moira started to lead the rebellion in 8:45 Blessed. We aren't given a year for her birth, but this puts her minimum 51 years old at the time of her death. Obviously an infant can't lead a rebellion (unless demon possessed perhaps), so I'm going to take a wild guess and say she was around 70 at her death and had Maric in her fifties(?). Would she really be that old? If anyone knows anything about her that I'm missing, please clarify.

Hoora! Amazon.ca now read "In Stock". My shipping estimate is now April 29th and delivery on May 1st, but I don't see why they should ship only Monday if they have it in stock. Especially when the item page says 1-day shipping deliver on Friday.

So, if they ship tonight I should get it tomorrow (or Monday if unlucky).

I just recieved my copy of World of Thedas from Amazon on thursday 4/25/2013. It's large, gorgeous and impressive but I haven't read it yet. I'm happy I bought it but it would be better at a discount.

Thanks to Bioware!

and I guess EA. I wonder how these projects get going and how profitable they are?
