I they ever made new ME games, would you like to see Shepard back as an npc, or some other way, lets say similar to Scotty in relics episode of TNG? Or do you think his appearance would just put a shadow over the new characters and story?

I'll always want Shepard around, even in memory. Shepard has gone from a Right Place, Right Time character into a sort of Messiah figure, so at this point in the universe narrative, it would be a little weird to suddenly have this historical figure mean nothing. Unless we are told Shepard's messiah-hood is a delusion. Which I can get behind.

Sort of like how if there was a post-Skyrim Elder Scrolls, I'd want to hear *something* about the Dragonborn. Otherwise it feels too detached. YMMV.

It shouldn't be too hard to get that done techically. A minor import of your ME3 file should do the trick.

No, his or her story has to end sometime. I think ME3 is as good a place as anyway.

If Shepard survives ME3, he or she should ride off into the sunset.

TBH yes, I'm kinda hoping for what they did with DA:Awakening where you can import your old warden or start new one. However, I don't mind starting with a clean slate. That's basically where the series is leaning towards right now.

it would be weird (for me) to see Shepard as an npc because I'm Shepard. so it would be like waving to myself, except i'm not controlling myself in the game. also, shepards are so different from player to player, that i'm not really sure how it would work (unless it were a really small cameo and referenced something really general)

They already had two goes at it and didn't pull it off. And I'd prefer this game not to use the import feature.

I wouldn't mind seeing a statue of my Shep somewhere on the Presidium. But that's about it.

Shepard for me is Mass Effect. The story that I have defined with him and the choices and decisions I've made along the way.

ME won't be the same with Shepard gone. I don't even think I'll find interest in it without Shepard.

The characters, specifically the ME2 characters, were also the major driving point for the series for me.

I don't see why they want to get rid of Shepard anyway. He sells, and people identify with him (or her). Just don't railroad him like you did in ME3 and we're golden.

Another reason I feel this way is because BW also decided to go the forced sacrifice/suicide route.

I of course had no intention of ever having my Shepard die, so getting shafted for the most part, even with the breath scene, which is really crummy btw, also pissed me off.

I'd be more receptive to a new game with new characters if Shepard got the send-off he deserved.
