Annnnd sign-ups have now officially closed. We have 19 Gold teams and 7 Silver teams. If anyone truly wants to enter and missed the deadline, PM me and we'll talk about the possibility of evening the numbers up.
Round 1 will start at 12:00pm noon EST Friday, March 1st. I'm sending the list off to my bracketmaster for consultation and set-up, and to figure out how Wildcards may possibly come into play. As soon as I have everything finalized, I will update this thread with the brackets and any Wildcard rules.
Round 1 enemy/map for all teams will be announced at the start of Round 1, both via this thread and through PMs to the teams.
Ultimate N7 Gauntlet Tournament - BONUS ROUND RESULTS PG. 37! Thanks to all for a great tournament!

Just a (stupid) question : when you say that the rounds will end on the next Thursday at midnight EST, does it mean it's the very beginning of the Thursday ? (i.e. in the night from Wednesday to Thursday)
This is to know if a round lasts 5.5 days or 6.5 days.
Thanks !

The midnight where Thursday morphs into Friday.
That way, all screenshots/character & gun lists should be in my inbox when I awake Friday morning, giving me time to do the math, post the screenshots, and declare the winners during my Friday morning pre-work routine. And then I draw the enemy/map for the next round and post at start of the lunch hour.
Meaning the bracket graphic itself would not be updated until probably Saturday each week, but that wouldn't slow anything down because we'd all be aware of who the winners of each bracket would be playing next anyway.

OK, so that's 6.5 days to do the round, thanks for the info ! That allows us Europeans to play on Thursday night too

Just as an update, I figured out the most logical (to me) way to construct the brackets for Silver and Gold, based on 6 rounds (plus final round) and the number of teams signed up. It was... creative, because the number of teams wasn't really sufficient, but I think it works out well. There's also a lot of losers' bracket/wildcard opportunities, so that should keep lots of teams engaged because going out in Round 1 doesn't necessarily mean you are immediately out of the tournament.
The problem is I gave my poor brackmaster little time to construct them in, due to when I closed sign-ups. I have my fingers crossed that I get them back in time. If I do not, then I will post up my hand-scribbled diagrams with Wildcard rules so you at least have a visual to go by until the nice graphical brackets go live.
I am currently in the process of drawing enemy/map match-ups, so everything will go up just shortly before noon EST. That's roughly 1.5 hours from now.

I was hoping a double elimination type of rule would be used to keep this last 6 rounds.

All right, listen up, N7s! The time you have all been waiting for is upon us. The time to start your Ultimate Gauntlet has arrived.
The official/nice-looking brackets will hopefully be available soon. In the meantime, here are the Silver and Gold diagrams to illustrate how this tournament will proceed. Bronze class has been eliminated entirely due to no sign-ups. Silver class will experience a slightly different flow than Gold class due to the low number of teams.
First, a general reminder of the rules and regulations that apply to both Silver and Gold class:
~ Teams may use no more than 3 of their players for any one round for official score submission.
~ Once a round has begun, teams may play that match-up as many times as they like while searching for the optimum score before deadline passes. However, once a scorecard has been submitted, that team is locked in and cannot later submit a better scorecard.
~ One screenshot of final scoreboard, plus a list of characters & weapons used by all team members must be submitted. Screenshots and character/weapon lists should be sent to: theultimaten7gauntlet@gmail.com
~ Total credit amount will be added to the total match score for a combined tournament score.
~ Once drawn, there will be no changing of enemy/map for each bracket. You will play what you are given. If you are unhappy with your match-up, then rise above it and prove yourselves as true N7 operatives. Also, you MUST set your match to your assigned enemy and map. Setting the enemy to "unknown" and trying to trick the system for extra experience points is NOT permitted in this competition.
~ All scorecards will be posted - hidden scores will not be allowed
~ Teams unable to provide a screenshot by deadline will automatically lose their bracket. All teams will have ample notification via thread and PM as to when round starts, when 48 hours are left, and on final day of score submission.
~ Gear allowed. Consumables allowed. Clever use of game mechanics allowed (i.e. pizza running, reload cancelling, spawn nuking, objective milking, etc.).
I will first discuss how Silver class will run and give its match-ups. Gold class discussion will take place in a secondary post going up shortly after this one.
Silver class level:
~ Due to the limited number of teams, there will be no eliminations until the completion of Round 3. As originally intended, each team will have a “tournament score”, which is simply experience points earned + credits earned. At the completion of Round 3, each team’s Rounds 1, 2, and 3 tournament scores will be added together and tallied as a whole. The winner of each bracket advances to Round 4, while a wildcard slot will be filled by the Round1/2/3 loser with the highest score.
~ Rounds 4, 5, and 6 will proceed just like Rounds 1, 2, and 3. Rounds 4, 5, and 6 scores will all be tallied together and winner of each bracket advances to the final round.
Round 1: Starts at 12:00pm noon EST Friday, March 1st and runs until 11:59pm EST Thursday, March 7th
Round 1: Any common character & any common gun
~ Use any base original human (male or female) Adept, Engineer, Soldier, Sentinel, Infiltrator, or Vanguard
~ Use any common weapon (can carry one or two), which are: Avenger, Predator, Mantis, Shuriken, and Katana
Silver class match-ups:
Round 1, Bracket 1
The Elite Cowards vs Defenders of Omega
Reapers/Ghost/Silver
Round 1, Bracket 2
Team CanardPC Force Rose vs Team Dark Demons
Geth/Dagger/Silver
Round 1, Bracket 3
Team ABD vs Team JaGro
Cerberus/Reactor/Silver

Gold class level:
~ Round 1 is self-explanatory: all 20 teams in brackets
~ Round 2 is composed of the Round 1 winners. In addition, Round 2 will also feature the top two highest-scoring losers from Round 1 as a wildcard match-up.
~ Round 3 is composed of the Round 2 winners. In addition, Round 3 will also feature the 3rd and 4th highest-scoring losers from Round 1 as a wildcard match-up.
~ Round 4 is composed of the Round 3 winners. In addition, Round 4 will also feature two wildcard brackets: one for the top two highest-scoring losers from Round 2 and one with highest-scoring loser from Round 3. Losers of the wildcard brackets for those particular rounds are also eligible to potentially fill the Round 4 wildcards if their scores put them there.
~ Round 5 is composed of the Round 4 winners.

I can work with that. I didn't realize we'd be up against a PC team in the first round. Should be interesting.
