No problem with one back up person, I would suggest it not be a person already on or has been on a team, this will avoid problems in later rounds. But to clarify if someone drops out and the alternate comes in, that player who dropped is out of the tournament, I sense issues if an alternate come in and out for rounds.

I have an upcoming trip to the middle east sometime in the March/April time frame for work, and will be gone for a whole week, so having to drop out for the rest of the tournament won't be much fun.

I think 10 days is best for flexibility. 7 days with an alternate and freedom to play after skipping a round is very workable. 7 days and having to drop out because of a work schedule is not so good.

I don't think there will be many issues if team rosters are limited to 4 players total, and scores are accepted for runs with up to 3 people from that roster.

Honestly I would allow for a team of 5 to sign up. Still only 3 people can be involved in the submitted run so it doesn't give any team an unfair advantage. I say this because even when we had teams of 10-12 people it was still a struggle for some teams to get 4 man runs submitted. One round we even had a solo. This gives teams flexibility for players not being able to play and allows for more people to participate.

In regards to time and credits - I am open to reasonable suggestions. Should credit amount be doubled? Should experience points be divided by time? As long as the rules are set in stone before the tournament starts, I am open to considering suggestions to help make it more than just experience score based.

I think it's good as-is... but I haven't thought extensively about it:D

A question to my N7 comrades:

Since
the length of the tournament has been brought up as a concern by
several folks, would the following adjustment seem reasonable:

~ 7-day timeframe (rounds start on a Friday and run through to Thursday)

~
Allowance of one extra person to be signed up as a back-up in the event
a team member is indisposed (i.e. travel, work, friend's wedding, etc.)
due to decrease in round timeframe

That would put the tournament end date at April 18th as opposed to June 2.

Floor is now open to discussion...

Both suggestions are fine. I think I will sign up nonetheless, provided I find a team :D

Thanks for your involvement in this, hopefully the tournament will turn out great ^_^

I've scrolled fast through that whole list and the only name that was clearly impressed in my memory was Drell Vanguard.

This is true love

I think all that makes sense. I would support those rules changes.

And I'll re-echo Zjarcal, and say I think doubling or tripling the credit value when adding it to points will really make doing objectives efficiently count for something close to milking the waves for points.

Doing objectives quickly is not as challenging as dragging out the objective waves. I think the original plan of adding the credits to the score is fine. I don't agree with double or tripple score for credits. People shouldn't be rewarded for taking the easy way out.

I would suggest not:innocent:

Because we are good gaming buddies, I can use a different language when playing with close friends that may not be appropiate for all viewers......but the play itself, yea sure, don't want that extra pressure of using politically correct words during our runs
