Aw snap
Heh heh, though I am recusing myself since I am the tournament master.
Understandable. I can't participate either then. Only 1/2 of Team Dragon Rage just won't feel right.

EDIT: Never mind. I'm no good as a team leader. Much less putting one together.

So, Dragon what is the word on having an alternate or two?
Would be nice to have one or two just in case. But then again we only have to submit our best score over the whole week. Btw, it looks like we need a team image haha

The following rules were amended on Feb. 19, 2013 at 7:30am EST
~ Teams are allowed to sign up a total of two reserve members. That makes a team total of no more than 5, with no more than 3 being allowed to play any one round for official score submission. This is to account for any back-ups that may be needed due to a primary team member being unavailable to complete a round before deadline. However, once sign-ups have ended, reserve team members are locked in and cannot be used by any other team.
~ 7 days per round (Rounds start at 12:00pm noon EST on Fridays and end at 9pm EST the following Thursday). Goal is to start Round 1 on Friday, March 1st.
~ One screenshot of final scoreboard, plus a list of characters & weapons used by all team members must be submitted (yes, honor system will, unfortunately, be the only way). Screenshots and character/weapon lists should be sent to: theultimaten7gauntlet@gmail.com
That last one was just me remembering that it might be a good idea to actually... oh, you know... give y'all the email address to send your submissions to. LOL
I have not made a final decision yet on whether I will amend the current rule on experince points + credits = tournament score. I am still leaning against a change as only 3-4 individuals had concerns, 2-3 are avidly against a change, and the silent majority who have said nothing and/or signed up already, I have to assume their silence equals consent to the rule as already presented. I have a few PMs out to a few folks who are more mathematically-minded than I and am waiting to get their thoughts. A final decision on that will be posted no later than 10pm EST tonight (likely earlier) and will be the last possible rule amendment. Period. After today, nothing more will be changed and all rules will be set into stone.

Question : is there a deadline for registration ? If so, which is it ? (I haven't seen this info but maybe I have misread the OP though)

I know it says "gun" but does that mean we're not allowed to take two guns for rounds or can we take two as long as they both meet the requirement for that round?
It looks like for Gold class the only URs available (aside for final round) are the Typhoon, Harrier, and Collector SMG, which is kind of cool for challenge level.

I'm sorry, but this does'nt make any sense. How can doing objectives as soon as possible be easier than avoiding them as long as possible? Especially for the final, on Platinum with 3 man teams it is way harder to milk objective waves then it is to finish quickly.Zjarcal wrote...

Doing objectives quickly is not as challenging as dragging out the objective waves. I think the original plan of adding the credits to the score is fine. I don't agree with double or tripple score for credits. People shouldn't be rewarded for taking the easy way out.Jeremiah12LGeek wrote...

A question to my N7 comrades:
Since the length of the tournament has been brought up as a concern by several folks, would the following adjustment seem reasonable:
~ 7-day timeframe (rounds start on a Friday and run through to Thursday)
~ Allowance of one extra person to be signed up as a back-up in the event a team member is indisposed (i.e. travel, work, friend's wedding, etc.) due to decrease in round timeframe
That would put the tournament end date at April 18th as opposed to June 2.
Floor is now open to discussion...
I think all that makes sense. I would support those rules changes.
And I'll re-echo Zjarcal, and say I think doubling or tripling the credit value when adding it to points will really make doing objectives efficiently count for something close to milking the waves for points.
Grinding objective waves isn't "hard", I'd dare say it's easier than actually attemtping to finish the objectives as fast as possible.
The point is that as it is, simply adding the credits to encourage people to finish objectives fast will not really change anything, because you will gain much more points by simply grinding them out.

Two questions:
1.) I know it says "gun" but does that mean we're not allowed to take two guns for rounds or can we take two as long as they both meet the requirement for that round?
2.) Will there be a listing of which characters/weapons go with which DLCs for easy reference? I know we can look at the challenges for most of these but some are less obvious. It looks like for Gold class the only URs available (aside for final round) are the Typhoon, Harrier, and Collector SMG, which is kind of cool for challenge level.
If I may chime in. You can carry as many as you can as long as they are within the rules(ex. Mantis and Shuriken on a Human Infiltrator is fine). As far as a listing, maybe if we use the screenshots of someone's N7HQ. Everything has been placed in order of "rarity".

Any chance we can change the deadline to Thursdays at Midnight Eastern. I live on the West Coast and 9:00 PM Eastern is only 6:00 PM here. I'm not available until 5:00 PM on Thursdays. That would leave me only an hour for some final runs.

You can carry two weapons, they just need to fit the format of the round (i.e. Round 1, both weapons must be common weapons).

Thanks, sort of answered my own question on the second one there (thought the Harrier wasn't listed for some reason). And for Retaliation I assume any of the 16 classes that were added and not just the 4 that show under the challenge?
Yes, any of the 16 kits can be used in the Retaliation round.
I will update my second (reserved) post in the thread tonight with a complete listing of rounds, their start and end dates/times, and character kits/weapons allowed.

Definitely a chance, I will think on it and update tonight with any other final rule changes. Changing to that time may not allow enough time for my bracket master to update the brackets prior to the next day's round announcements, but we can work around that.
