I've started to warm up to the Crusader. I hated it for a while, but I've been getting a ton of them in packs lately, so I decided to give it another shot after I got it to VII. Slapped it on my Geth Trooper as a secondary to the Typhoon and used drill rounds to just annihilate things through all sorts of cover and walls.

I still haven't completely adjusted to the delay, but I'm becoming more proficient with the weapon. I can say that I no longer dread getting it in packs any more (although I still only want Hurricane upgrades).

I used it on Batarian Soldier (mostly to get 200 waves with the class) and Human Infi.

My favourite promotional weapon after Valiant.

I like this gun a lot. I actually think my highest score, like, ever was with the Crusader on a FQI, so I've been using that combo a lot lately. I really love how accurate it is, regardless of the delay, because I hate SR scopes.

I first used the 'Sader to complete the shotgun challenge and was surprised by how much I liked it. That said, missing shots completely be be because of lag can be mildly infuriating.

Crusader? I hardly knew her.

The Crusader has always been decent, you just had to know how to use it. I use to use it all the time on my KroSent all the time, though I've since found better weapons for that class. I'll have to revisit it.

1st of all, it's not an firing delay, it's an aim delay. It fires when you pull the trigger, and lands exactly where it was aiming... .2 seconds in the past.

Are you sure that it isn't that it aims exactly where the crosshairs are when you pull the trigger, but the shot does not occur until .2s later and anything that happens with the aiming in that time is irrelevant?

That is what Bioware claimed, and obviously that behavior is different than what you stated.  Meaning that if its point of aim is on when you click then rapidly changing aim is irrelevant as long as you are on when you hit the fire button / pull the trigger.  And why they say there is no reason to bother fixing it.

If it is really simply delayed in the past from when you click Fire, it would probably actually get fixed.

And after all the cons have been compensated for, what do we have then?

Seriously, this is like arguing with people saying you should use the revenant with scope and stabilizer.

Aim delay is a killer as well. I swivel around and shoot, why in the **** doesnt it go where i shoot it?

Everyone knows AR Scope is better than AR Stability Damper for the Revenant. ;)

Umm, what shot delay? I just always assumed it had a slow rate of fire which I nullified by using it on characters with increased rates of fire. I also use it on classes where weight is not an issue. I stayed away from this weapon for the better half of 8 months. Then I gave it a try. It's armor destroying capabilities is unmatched by any weapon I've used so far. It hits hard and lays waste to any and all enemies.
The draw backs? Slow rate of fire. If you are not perfectly locked onto a target you will miss even from point blank range. And it's easy to run out've ammo. Other the that, I love the weapon. I have been using it on my Vorcha Sentinal since I really don't have to worry about power recharge. Just run up to baddy, flame to face for a second, then either throw grenades for fire explosion, or shoot them in the face while they do the poo poo pants on fire dance.

It was my first promo gun, from the first weekend op way back. At VIII now. I can do well with it, as I am used to it. But it's still too heavy for me to use on power classes. It's good on Vorcha or Krogan or any class with 0-1 powers and can benefit from a shotgun blade as well as a long range headshot machine rolled up into one gun.

Looks like everyone missed the bit about staggering powers.

Exactly, even a cheap projectile power that gets enemies to dodge will give you plenty of time to line up a shot. I was under the impression that this was a common practice with lots of slow powerful weapons, why is it so foreign to do this with the crusader?

Maybe because it might not be such a common practice?

I used it this weekend while hosting - it made a huge difference , I could actually hit things! When off host, it never managed to kill anything . Not too shabby on krogan soldier.

Yeah, this is my build also.  I use a melee hybrid build.  Works very well.  Your cooldown is always 3 due to TC.

Really, I think the main role of the crusader is that you can mount an omni-blade on it and still have decent firepower at range.  With any other shotgun your sacraficing either the heavy barrel or smart choke.  I use an powerless KSen, so that is another charachter who gets use out of it.

Basicly, any charachter where you want to melee things and don't mind the cooldown, this can be a good choice. Which isn't many, but it's fun in those case.

I don't find the delay to be much of a problem except with very high lag, and I almost never host.

It's a very underrated weapon. I like it on the Turian Soldier, Human Infiltrator, and Krogan (minus the BATTLEMASTER). It takes some getting used to, but once you learn it's intricacies it's one of the best. Combine the Turians stability with marksman and you have yourself a true boss-killer. Especially with a proxy thrown in before. It's only drawback is weight, but that can be mitigated with cooldown evos and consumables/gear. One of my faves.

Just tried this gun and its sick. I was popping heads off geth primes hehe. I thought they got rid of headshots for primes? Use a SI.

There was a point where I loved the gun, but now that feeling is gone, and it doesn't seem to want to come back. But every so often I like to take it out and see if I'll get that feeling again.

I host a majority of my games, and when I'm not host, I tend to have a great connection to the host (because my wife's hosting).  I'll try a random PuG with it tonight and see how it fares.

But I thought that there are no dwarf women?!

On-topic though, the only reason I don't use it is because I can't. I know how much power it has, I just can't harness it for the life of me.

The Crusader does not fire at what you are aiming at, but what you were aiming at 0.2 seconds before.  It's only an issue when you have lateral movement.

It is usable when I host, but I hate having to relearn aiming to compensate for a broken mechanic plus it slams hard into shieldgate.

It is a Shotgun that doesn't act like any other shotgun and it is easily replaceable as a sniper rifle. Bad category to be in with as many weapon choices as we have.

all right. I guess it's time to give it another shot. Stupid firing mechanic is just something I'll have to deal with.
