I don't think the squadmates in ME3 are uninteresting. Quite the opposite for me, tbh.
But maybe that's because most of my fave cast of characters are from ME1, although I do miss several of the ME2 crew like Miranda and Samara, they are my femShep's BFF. So sad they can't join the party on 3. I'm hoping that this new dlc might rectify that, even if only for a while (as temporary squaddies)
Did the mainly uninteresting squad/overall lack of squad mates ruin the replay value for you?

No I don't think the crew was uninteresting Jacob gets a bad rep cuz of cougar Fshep. Vega gets a bad rep cuz he earns it, Jack gets one cuz her tape bra, Miranda cuz she's forced on the player and controlling, Between all three games you can kill off all your squadmates which isn't good BW pulled a LOST and that wasn't good.
The lore breaking endings of synthesis and control primarily turned me off to replaying the series with how ridiculous they were but also the moments from riding the death elevator to the hidden room and meetings starbrat and having him be quest giver, protagonist, and antagonist all in one helps tons to making me not even want to try to replay 3 a third time as I played it enough to beat one playthrough w/ my Mshep and Fshep and that's it.
It's also noticing all the other things they retconned, dropped, or white washed along the way that keep me from starting a new playthrough the game.

Not at all. It made sense that we could only talk to ME2 squads briefly. There was something called a REAPER WAR going on! In war, especially galatic war, not a lot of people can get together, talk, rejoice and distract their minds with sex and poker, especially when whole planets are on the brink of annihalation and they are all counting on YOU.
The thing that killed replay was the ending, the fact that its down to Red, Blue and Green.
My playthroughs just so you can get an idea:
ME 1 --> 7x
ME 2 --> 20-21x
ME 3 --> 2x (the second was for EC)

Am I alone on this?
I found the squad pretty boring to say the least... minus Garrus, Liara and Javik really.
One thing I really liked about ME2 was all the awesome characters and i loved to do new play throughs using different charcters on different missions to hear what they had to say.
On ME3 i'm seriously limited on options though, EDI and James are completely uninteresting and the Virmire Survivor and Tali can hardly be held up to the likes of Mordin and Legion.
Anyone else think more squad mates should have been included + more interesting ones?
It wasn't the squad that ruined the replay value. I'll give you a hint.... it was 10 minutes.
