Did the mainly uninteresting squad/overall lack of squad mates ruin the replay value for you?

The Normandy stays in space, the shuttles land on planets, under Reaper attack, not their control. She was deployed quickly enough to fight the Geth on Rannoch but her rank makes her too important now? Context yo.

. It was stupid to have her fighting on Rannoch as well.

And the Normandy lands on Earth.  Definitely reaper controlled

I'm thinking about starting a ME2 game, no import so I can do all the stuff I've wanted to do but just can't.

Two of my playthroughs started in ME2. I just use Gibbed to set the appropriate plot flags. Saves a lot of hours crawling about in the Mako. Granted, there are some things I can't do (like kill Balak), but a lot of options are covered.

EDIT: Crap, you're on XBox, aren't you?

yeah, I might have to just run through with one of my ME1 charades that I never imported.  Already a high level so I don't have to do all those pointless side missions.

Or I could just start fresh in ME2.  But I don't know what choices are assumed for that.  And I'm not getting the comic play through.  It drools over Liara.

Rachni queen dead, Wrex dead, no pilgrimage gift, opposite-sex VS, council dead, Udina as councilor. I don't think it sets you up with a romance, but you'll be talking to Liara in the opening sequence. I don't think Shiala, Gianna, Rana, or Verner show up. No starting paragon or renegade, so your dialogue options are limited to one or the other very early on.

The Gibbed ME3 editor works fine with xbox saves. You just move your save to a USB drive, open it up with Modio, extract the save and you are good to go.

No it evacs them from earth in a scene you know is a croc to begin with, they land initially in a shuttle refer to STEEEVE meme.

You know who else is on Earth? Wrex/Wreav and Primarch Victus. All high ranking military offcials, you want to argue Bioware can't write militray stategies? Fine, I'll probably agree with you, but Tali being there is perfectly acceptable within the established context.

I typically pick Udina as councilor, though I don't do it until ME2.

I wish I had the option to leave Tali on Rannoch or have her contribute to the War Effort.

Just as I wish I could have left Garrus on Menae to also contribute to the war effort.

And have Liara manage being the Shadow Broker.

I'm fine with a 3 man squad of EDI, James, and Javik.

Hell I wish EDI kept her damn hologram.

James and Javik are the only squadmates worth a damn too me in ME3.

Kaidan is ok, and I'd bring Ashley if I could troll her harder. As it is, I either give her to Hackett or just kill her on the coup.

"I hope the Reapers send you to hell!"

Have fun in hell with them Ash! I'm sending them to you via my mad pipe shooting skills.

Yeah, it's bad there, I'll admit.

Just as being a Spectre or not in the beginning of ME3 has no impact on the story at all.

Only a few lines of dialogue change.

I don't have an issue bringing Garrus or Kaidan. Tali, EDI. And Liara bug me. Liara only leaves the ship twice though, Tali slightly more. EDI is too useful to leave for certain missions.

. I can think of maybe two lines that change based on Councilor decision.

I typically have EDI's powers covered, and don't make much use of biotics outside my vanguard playthrough. Javik's Dark Channel complements a vanguard nicely. Garrus is pure murder with a Typhoon and AP ammo, and Tali's drone is good at typing up crowds if you spec it right. James is pretty good if you give him exploding burst ammo and a Prothean beam weapon, but it's a bit OOC.

I don't know why I bother recruiting the VS, I really don't.

Garrus with a widow and squad armor piercing rounds combined with James using Saber/Crusader(I have all my squadmates using guns they would be expected to use) and my sentinel with a Mattock and we are unstoppable. Two overloads that have neural shock + affect 3 enemies, carnage to set up fire explosions, grenades.

Sometimes it's Garrus/Javik, dark channel + throw = BOOM

Kaidan is at least pretty versatile when it comes to powers (he kind of covers what Miranda brought to the table in ME2) plus he has an assault rifle for the Prothean Death Rifle.  Ash and James are redundant.

I rarely choose my squadmates based on their powers; I just bring the ones I like.

I've never done a Sentinel playthrough, but I might after finishing my Vanguard. What kind of build would you recommend? Power-centric? Weapon-centric? Spec tech armor for damage or durability? Melee dependency?

What? The Normandy crew of ME3 was great, even the new additions. James was great EDI was funny and Javik was exotic and interesting. I loved all of them besides Ashley.

Get rid of some of the N7 missions to make space for that extra dialogue needed to implement ME2 squadmates. A few others and I had a nice idea of a "rotating" spot for Grunt, Samara, Miranda, Zaeed, and maybe Jack (if her students were put in support roles).
