Is this the most violent game ever made?

Every single enemy is like a giant blood pomegranate. Poke it a little bit and blood is spurting out everywhere. Everywhere you go in this game you see torsos and heads impaled on pikes, very very violent.
Don't think there has ever been so violent of a game.

But I agree, it's really just tons and tons of blood. And the odd body part flying from Walking Bomb explosions.

The violence is a bit more realistic perhaps but in terms of spilled bodily fluids I think Dragon Age has them both beat.

I don't think even No More Heroes had as much blood as this game.

Hm... I don't think so. Sure, the blood-parameter is sometimes a bit ... extreme, but at least it's not like we - as players - are torturing our enemies in countless ways until the die... Maybe it's also because there is always a little bit of distance to the combat or the "killing". It's more about strategy and less about the thrill of combat.
Have you every played "God of war", or seen gameplayvideos of it? That's something I would call violent. Or similar games that focus on action-oriented combat rather than tactical combat.

Vampire : Bloodlines was possibly more violent. Less blood, but pretty violent. And oh so creatively.
VtMB (the greatest RPG ever) is for sure more violent and there is more blood. This game isnt really all that violent compared to a lot of stuff out there.

The Happy Tree Friends even has more violence and gore than DA:O does.

You obviously don't play many FPS's. Try the airport level in Modern Warfare 2 and then ask that question again.
Good example, except I'd recommend just watching the scene it on youtube instead of playing the game.

Heh, no, it's not that violent. It's kinda silly in some places, with all the blood splattered on your party. It's pretty funny in some cutscenes (like in the brothel or when kissing your chosen partner), when nobody seems to be bothered that you look like you just butchered a pig or something.
It is because spattered blood is haute couture on the streets of Ferelden you know, like delicate heels and elaborate hair is on the streets of Orlais! *nods*
It's a bloody game for sure. but surely i am not the only one who looked around for the heads the first few decapitations? :innocent:
