If the Reapers are sentient: then they have chosen to harvest and destroy other life without giving justification towards a belief in an inevitable eventuality that is the result of failed programming and a flawed logical belief that it is impossible for organics and synthetics to coexist. They enforce their reign without empathy or compassion. They are psychopathic in nature and wish only to destroy to further their goal.
I destroy them without hesitation to maintain my civilization.
If they are not sentient: Then they are organically created machine hybrids that do not have real value than to be big giant robot cuttlefish that exist to serve the catalysts purpose and destroy all life to maintain a balance to a problem that is not as bad or complex as the solution without empathy or compassion as an automaton would do.
I destroy them to save my civilization from destruction by machines that are little more than machines with a VI running them.

Yes! Ignore the advice every single one of your allies gives you! You should listen to the ideas of the villains instead!

''Countless diverse races of our galaxy. Brothers, sisters, friends, allies. We gather here at this place to take back that which has been stolen from us. taken from us by a race of beings that seek our obliteration. A race of beings with no thought but for our demise. Our extinction.
The reapers think we are crud to be stepped on. A genetic mistake. A blight on the galaxy. A virus to be cleansed. Make no mistake, the reapers will not stop until we are all dead. They will crush us and utterly destroy us if we allow them to.
Yet despite all the reapers have taken from us, there is still hope. Hope for a future free of the threat of the reapers and their minions. They may take much from us in the coming battle, but they will never take our dignity. They will never take the hope from our hearts, The spirit from our being, the words from our lips. These things are not theirs to take from us while even one person still draws breath.
So we will go to war. We MUST go to war.
We will take back our worlds or die trying. We will take back our freedoms. We will take revenge for the souls of all those the reapers have murdered without remorse. We will go willingly into battle, even against overwhelming odds, and we will not falter. We will persevere.
Damn it, We will not be just a memory on a future beacon left for some poor creatures to discover thousands of years from now.
We will drive the reapers from our homeworlds, We will force them back into darkspace, and then we will destroy them without mercy.
Kill the reapers. Leave none of them alive. Show them no mercy. Give them no quarter. Obliterate them utterly. Hunt them down and kill them all.
And if anyone should have any doubt about the task at hand, know this. If we destroy the reapers then this war ends today, but if we falter and pick some other lame ass ending, then the Reapers wont just take us, They'll take Marilyn Monroe and Einstein and Buddy Holly and Aristophenes and Hawking and cox and Johnny Rotten and Mozart and Mr tumble and Meat Loaf, as well as the memory of every living human being to have ever existed upon the earth, or any being of any race that has ever existed in this vast galaxy of ours..... and all of this ..... all of this was for nothing "

I mean no disrespect but lets see
We either
A) Believe a soilder who may have been your mentor and supported you throughout 3 games.
or C) Believe the logic of a Godkid whos purpose is "Yo dawg! I heard you don't wanna be killed by synthetics, so we created synthetics to kill you all every 50,000 years so you won't have to be killed by synthetics!"
If you pick other endings thats ok and If i sound like a troll, I apologize
But I'm just trying to explain who would you believe

You're projecting and using sematics of wording. No ally wanted anything short of the Reapers all killed.

Total eradication seems a fools choice when an option to reform them is present.
Though I can see why you would think otherwise, better safe than sorry I suppose.
its the save route ... i dont play dice either.
this is not the time to think outside the box. its the time to get rid of our archenemy - once and for all.
its time to do what all the brave men and women died for on the battlefields.
its time to do, what everybody in this fight signed on for.
this is not the time for petty vengeance
its the time to ensure our survival and kill the enemy - like he would kill us.
its time to shoot the tube.
it is as horrible as the other outcomes - but it is honest ...
and may shepard burn in *insert place here* for it. (at least in the non-modified version of the endings)

I feel that it is the choice that is most in line with the story arc, even if the consequences are pretty horrible; the geth gone and Edi dead... =( I still go with destroy since it rights the wrong done in the past with the construction of the catalyst and the reapers. It also allows Shepard to live and that is a clear plus. It's not a very happy ending but it is a good ending.

The Borg are the Reapers
There really is no better comparison. The Reapers are the Borg with attitude.
And that clips sums things up perfectly.
i know that's why I love it. I wish BioWare could phone paramount and get permission to parody the scene. Would be epic if we could have that scene in your quarters with your love interest. Would be epic to have your weapon smash your display case of collected ships!

well we will destroy the reapers, but he says we will create synthetics and the problems will return. To be frank with you i'd rather take our chances - kill the reapers and that problem is solved. deal with the main problem first.Wayning_Star wrote...

"I say we take off and nuke the entire site from orbit. It's the only way to be sure."
To expand on the analogy, Controllers would be Burke. Synthesisers would be Dr. Gediman from Alien: Resurrection.
Yes, that's right. Synthesis sucks just as badly as Alien: Resurrection.

I'm with you on that one, but the reapers isn't the problem...unfortunately. Actually, they don't even rate 'symptom' anymore, after the Catalyst says it's solution wont work anymore.
Do you understand what the actual problem is, or who actually?
