Do you understand what the actual problem is, or who actually?
The problem is the Reapers. It has ALWAYS been the Reapers. It always WILL be the Reapers, unless we stop them once and for all.
However, with less than 5 minutes of sketchy dialogue, vague assurances and meaningless platitudes, they have managed to convince you that they are in fact the SOLUTION.
You have no idea how amusing I find this.

Correct. As far as they were concerned, stopping the reapers meant destroying them. This cycle was fighting for survival, but they were also fighting for freedom. They wanted to be able to forge their own future. Shepard says as much when negotiating with the geth. It isn't enough just to survive. It's what the geth wanted all along as well. Their loss is a tragedy, but asking every race to give up their freedom so the geth can exist in a state that they themselves were willing to risk death to avoid is not an acceptable outcome. No one is free as long as the reapers continue to exist.BleedingUranium wrote...

Yes! Ignore the advice every single one of your allies gives you! You should listen to the ideas of the villains instead!
Most of my allies wanted to STOP the Reapers...
You're projecting and using sematics of wording. No ally wanted anything short of the Reapers all killed.

I love how sure Shepard is that there are more options. Like...how the **** is he so sure? Just a minute ago you had no idea what it did.
Oh and this piece of dialogue is tied to the high EMS variant. I don't even need to explain why this doesn't make sense.

that could also be taken as the catalyst considers Shep to 'your' like in plural, mean all organics..Sheps decision is tied to all within range of the cruciblized citadel upon detonation... That is one BIG tool making skill, who ever designed that thing.

It was posed as a question to the catalyst.. "There has to be a better way!?!"

you should probably use the word "destroy" as 'kill' isn't really accurate, unless it's those harvested races serving under the reaperships dying, that would be more accurate. Reaperships aren't actually 'alive' their cargo is, it's what they use to think with, as they're just machines.

I know, I just clarified, as seeing the scenes myself, always came at me as Shep query, like with the Leviathan. Shep has to try and be diplomatic as possible to not close down the conversations.

The Borg are the Reapers
There really is no better comparison. The Reapers are the Borg with attitude.
And that clips sums things up perfectly.
i know that's why I love it. I wish BioWare could phone paramount and get permission to parody the scene. Would be epic if we could have that scene in your quarters with your love interest. Would be epic to have your weapon smash your display case of collected ships!
Liara: John, you'll blow up the damn Citadel!

I head canon that line to be Shepard wondering if there is another way to destroy the reapers. Glowstick misunderstood him.
Shep probably was, but to no avail. The scenes and answers the cat give pretty much nullifies doubt. Shep is free to pick. There were no cheats, just the facts as the catalyst realizes them. The crucible ties it's cyber hands...
