I think she was referring to Asari not being good front line soldiers.

I'd reply with something more thoughtful, but it is pretty clear that people only respond to snarky comments, so I'll stick to those instead :D

I mean "have you ever faced an asari commando unit before? Few humans ever have..." and then u boom get into a 30 second fight with them on noveria(ME1) u win
Enyala in ME2? the fight was a joke

TBH the only Commandos in the series that seem worth anything are Aria Wasea and Shiala....
Just found that strange...

How strange, named mobs being more difficult than random goons. It's as though they are designed to have a greater effect somehow...

I really think they should change Asari Commandos so they appear and blow Sheppard's brains out automatically. Sort of like Kai Leng. Then everybody would be happy.

On the contrary. I find them very useful.

For serving drinks and giving lap dances.

TBH i always hated them, they are cramed down our throath troughout the series as both sexy, intelligent, peace loving and right most of the time, i found them to be snotty, hypocritical and down right annoying.

The few Asari I did like i found str8 out awesome Mainly Shiala and Samara, and they are to date IMO, some of the best characters in the series , but generally they are un interesting, bleak and try to sell on space bi sexuallity

So,  jelousy?

Lol but srsly the way some posters get so worked up about them is a little pathetic. You'd think the asari killed their family or smth.

Just curious, how would you 'remake' the asari? I mean if you were able to go back to me1 and 'retool' them a bit to your groovy tasteswithout altering their physical appearance how would you make them? just want to hear your personal take on them.

Oh and pls don't  say "I wouldn't".

Not to mention a certain Prothean Beacon they kept for themselves and didn't reveal until the last damn minute.

"Asari Superiority!" We have dismissed that claim!!!

please don't go there, we have people here bragging about following a no death ruleset on insanity and finding it ridiculously ease because they are so good that if games were made for them they would only say 10000 copies (not kidding you this was actually said to me here)

Well, do Asari Commandos really suck more than Shepard who basically believes the Catalyst?

I mean, really, who is more of an idiot? An Asari Commando or your character? :D

There's always been a distinction between gameplay mode and lore. The balancing in shooty bits are for gameplay and not to give you an entirely accurate depiction of characters abilities.

I'm with schebobo, I never liked the Asari. In the lore-rich-awesomeness that was ME1 they stuck out like a sore thumb for how silly and far-fetched they were as a race concept.

ME3 probably made a lot more people hate them, since they come off as total jerks in the game.

I don't understand why people think the Asari are 'weak.'

In ME3 the Asari military actually puts up a much stiffer fight than the Alliance did.

The bulk of reaper forces where on earth kicking the crap outta humanity, the Asari had less to deal with and had more time to build up defenses as they knew the reapers where coming.

Alliance space isn't just limited to the Sol Sytem however, and nearly every cluster 'owned' by the Alliance gets overrun by the Reapers. It is an unbroken string of defeats until the final battle.

In contrast the Asari manage a couple short-lived victories against the Reapers. They can hardly be called 'weak' when they managed a better fight than the Alliance, whatever the circumstances. Only the Turians manage to put up more of a fight than the Asari.

Also in some of the lore for the Krogan Rebellions there are examples of the Asari holding their own. For example, the planet description of Lusia:

The Krogan Rebellions began in the asari colony of Lusia. After centuries of unabated expansion, the krogan finally forced the Council's hand when they tried to annex this world. Aware that in a generation, Lusia could be a staging base for an invasion of Thessia, the Council came to the colony's defense. They cut the krogan supply lines off at Thessia's mass relay and inflicted heavy casualties. The krogan here surrendered, but others across the galaxy were enraged. Lusia became the catalyst for a much greater war.

More than a millennium later, Lusia finds itself once again in danger. Though the asari have lost the "high ground" of space, the colony's webbed defense grid remains at least partially functional. Land, sea, and air forces are striking wherever they can, determined to resist until the end.

So Wrex, one of the toughest Krogan out there, faced off against an Asari called Aleena on a salarian space station, and by all accounts this was one of his toughest opponents.

Asari Justicars are also held in high regard, and a certain Ardat Yakshi can potentially take down Shepard.

I found the asari commandos and Benezia ridiculously hard to beat in my first playthrough (Infiltrator).

Other times around I've had Liara armed with Singularity and Lift, though, which makes any fight a bit of a joke.

That said, asari commandos are a lot tougher to beat than, say... Turian soldiers, Human vanguards, Salarian engineers, Krogan Battlemasters... You know, all those other guys we easily beat the crap out of over the course of the game?

I dunno, I fail to see how asari commandos are 'worse' than any of the other expendable lads we fight. At least commandos in ME2 tend to have Biotic barriers and Warp which makes them -slightly- dangerous.

And if we include Multiplayer, then ****, Asari Adept mother****ers. GET OUT OF THE WAY, I'M GONNA SHINE ON.

-.- spammer...

as for the Asari:

They are degerate because they live in luxury and have not had to fight a real war for thousands of years (at least directly: they had the Turians, the Salarians and the Krogan do that for them (!) - yes they defended some Colonies and help with the Offensives (in the Rachny-Wars) - but probably only with a token force (some of them still are highly trained after all))

as for the mooks in game...well they might bei trained biotics (and the one in LotSB was not all that easy the first time, at least for me => and that is why she is a SPECTRE and not just some mercenary I would venture as a guess) but they are not Huntresses (with centuries of training) or Justicars (who make it their live to fight for justice) - they are commandos (meaning they have more training then most - but not as much as an N7-Alliance soldier or even Laira (note: practically lived alone for years and had to be able to rely on her biotics and weapon skills - otherwise every idiot could have stolen artifacts she dug up or killed her and then robbed her...also her mother is a matriarch and probably had her trained)

greetings LAX

Eclipse Heavies. And I'd hate to say it, but most quarians are noobs as foot soldiers it seems. Though there was Bolo from Ascension.

I don't think losing to Shepard counts as humilition.

The Asari Commandoes on Noveria were probably badass, but then again; Shepard has fought against everything from Tresher Maws, makes Super-Human Elite Cerberus Soldiers look like fodder, made Krogan Battlemasters look like pansies, defeated every other Spectre he has encountered and stood his ground against the relentless, uncompromising robotic hordes of the Geth.

It doesn't matter HOW badass you are, whether you got super biotics or over-performing reaper implants.
Shepard will make you look like a pansy either way.
