Temp banned a few times, once was for typing "inb4 lock" in a troll thread because I didn't report the thread to the moderators (which is considered contributing to the problem).

That was weird.

I was just joking, Chunky. You know I've gotten banned before a lot though. Being negative about Mass Effect 3 pre-release was a main reason.

Some spam removed. Lots of recognizable names here (hello!).

I just wanted to clear up a few things:

1. Necro-ing an old thread is only permitted if you are adding substantially to the discussion. If you're just bringing it back to say "lol" or "I agree," you're better off leaving it alone.

2. Throwaway posts like "inb4lock," "cool story, bro" "tl;dr" and "0/10. Would not bang" are considered spam because they add nothing to the discussion. The same goes for related memes and animated gifs that say those things.

3. Single images, video links, or meme images are disallowed per Site Rule #6. The Site Rules are linked at the bottom of every page. Contributing to spam threads is similarly discouraged.

4. Quote pyramids are highly discouraged. Those deemed to be creating such quote pyramids intentionally will be banned for spam.

5. Disputes or disagreements with your ban should be discussed with the Moderator who banned you. If the situation cannot be resolved, and you still feel very strongly about the issue, you should message Jessica Merizan or Chris Priestly. If the issue still can't be resolved and you still feel very strongly about it, you should message Jeff Rousell.

6. If you are reporting issues and shenanigans within the forums, it's more effective to send a PM directly to a Moderator and provide a link to the issue. The Report This Post button reports to EA Community staff, and takes a roundabout route to get to us Moderators. There is also no need to post "reported" or "End of line" in a thread you think (or know) is going to be locked.

7. You can only be banned for your behaviour and posts, not the behaviour or posts of others.

8. If you are banned multiple times within a short period of time, your ban time is usually longer than normal.

9. Only forum admins can perma-ban from the forums and the site. Moderators can only temp-ban, but we can offer the recommendation of a perma-ban for frequent offenders or egregious violators of the Site Rules.

10. Be excellent to each other.

One of my first posts ever here landed me a temp ban because a user mistook a post of mine for trolling when I never had any trolling intentions. I've been temp banned about, 5-6 times, for things like quoting a post containing something inappropriate while being unaware of the consequences, or getting in a bit of light mischief/thread derailing with certain other members here. Haven't been banned in a long while though.

Got a warning on Steam ME forums once for circumventing profanity filter to quote the game. Specifically "Anthropocentric bag of [phone booths]".

Well, I hadn't been touching this one with a ten-foot pole. Now I feel like the waters are a tad safer.

Never been banned. I may joke about it from time to time, but it is my intention never to be banned. I push the line a little with my humour being off-topic, but I'm usually pretty good about washing my hands of threads that go south.

And luckily for me, I've always felt "inb4lock" and "end of rine" were sort of obnoxious memes, anyway.

I was warned once for spamming spam threads.

I had slipped through a couple of ban waves over the Holidays that several people here have already referred to.

I thought of changing my tag to Jeremiah the Twelfth Level Bad Boy.

Ladies like bad boys, right?

Never. I may have inadvertently broken a rule or two, but never intentionally. There are other places where I can post racially insensitive image meme post pyramids if I wish.
