As far as i remember i have never been banned, don't know why as i am very critical of Bioware games sometimes.
There's nothing wrong with being critical, and AFAIK, no one has been banned simply for being critical. If one were being critical at every opportunity--particularly if they were starting to get nasty about it, or going on about their free speech or how BioWare owes them--that stops being constructive and productive rather quickly and ruins the fun for others. That gets into the territory of violating Rules #3, #5, and #7, which may necessitate a ban. If you've ever been banned for "being too negative" or "constant negativity," that's what it means.
One does not need to be the loudest or the most obnoxious in order to be heard. And being heard does not necessarily mean a response is forthcoming.
Believe it or not, it works the other way too, though far less frequently. I've banned people for defending the game and/or BioWare too emphatically. When someone gets so passionate about a thing that they can't bear to hear anything negative about it, to the point of verbal attacks, insults, and name-calling, that's also a violation of the rules.
The BSN is here for gamers of all stripes and backgrounds and tolerances and preferences to discuss BioWare, BioWare games, and whatever interests them (in the Off-Topic section, of course). Disagreements should be discussed with civility and mutual respect, and if they can't be, it's better to just let it go. Being right on the internet is not a competition.
