Haven’t been banned yet, but I feel as if though I'm watched closely, I feel like a lot of the threads I visit become abruptly locked. I don’t know if that’s the company I keep or there is a pile of post-it notes somewhere out there with a list of names to watch?

Nothing personal to the moderators I know you’re just doing your job, but I’m getting post shy in threads because I feel if I post something the moderators will be alerted to scour the thread and possibly lock it?
Or is that just paranoia ?Image IPB

Oh, yeah, I think I remember one time I got a warning from Chris Priestly, something about if I didn't lower my tone he'd silence me for good, or at least something along those lines. I think I was ranting about something Activision related, but it was definitely over something really unnecessary and stupid on my end. Whatever it was I must have been really bad to elicit such a response.

Good thing I don't lose my cool like that anymore! Image IPB

EDIT Looking back on it, I don't know why I got off with a mere warning on that one because as much as I can remember it was deserving of much worse. Maybe Priestly was just feeling generous that day, I don't know but I was very lucky. I tried digging for that thread earlier for context but couldn't find a thing. I think it was deleted or sent to a mod thread dump for all the worst ones, should such a thing even exist. I'm sure a mod only board exists at least.

It's paranoia. More likely, you're being drawn to threads that seem like tons of fun, but actually violate rules against spam, or they soon become unproductive as they get more popular and people start joking around in them. There are far too many community members for Moderators to try and "follow around" from thread to thread.

Once, because someone decided to report me for spam instead of facing an inconvenient truth.

Yes, it's always someone else's fault because you never broke the rules in the first place. :P

The pyramid I will own up to, that was my fault 100%. I rarely see people getting banned for it, but you are correct that I broke a rule. I disagree about the platform issue, but I am refraining from posting threads about it to avoid further bans.

However, I do feel I would have been banned for something else other than the pyramid simply to shut me up, even if it was a judgement call/borderline ban. The AI issue that I was discussing does exist, just like the credit/xp loss issue after a match is complete exists, but both seem to be ignored for some reason. To this point there has been no official acknowledgement to either, nor do I suspect there will be given that the last DLC is coming out and we still have bugs present from release.

Says Ninja Stan as he pushes the pile of post-it notes off of his desk and into the lock drawer. j/k

Okay thanks for clarifying.

God knows. Or maybe the mods do. :P

Various reasons. Reviving a thread, spamming(though I honestly have never in my life actually tried to spam anything or anyone, so all of those times were not by intention), and once wasn't a suspension but a warning for "provoking" someone into losing their cool.

I still disagree with that one. It was back waaay before ME3 came out, when Major Coats was just known as the British guy in the trailer(yes, this is even before he was being called "Big Ben" due to the tower he was in).

People were talking about how good/bad he looked in a thread and I said something along the lines of, "Well I know I look better than the British dude in the trailer"(me tooting my own horn in jest).

Which sent some dude over the edge and he went on an Anti-American racial rant for an entire post, which I'm sure got him suspended.

[Opposite Day]So that was fun.[/Opposite Day]

But I've eaten all the suspensions I've been served. Hopefully no more are on the way but you never know. I try to not break the rules but since the moderators all have different opinions on what is considered "the line" that is crossed/not crossed(as an example, how long a thread has been "dead" and thus is necro'd), sometimes you just get unlucky.

In the end of the day though I've been around for yeeeeears so I should know better, right? :P

I'll keep trying to be goodie goodie for the sake of the boards, and do what I can to bring the bad apples(all those god forsaken SPAMMERS) to the attention of the devs/mods.

Uh, well, uh, yeah.

Several times for several different offenses. Spamming a troll thread, playing devil's advocate, bashing, inappropriate imagery, so on.
