Dlc speculation

OK i was talking with a friend of mine who was telling me about how there is a two Gig limit(or so) on content placed on xbl well we went back and forth about how maybe these files are an extention of that not just as "hooks" but some of the files themselves. Kinda like these files were to large and needed to be placed in other dlc's that had the space. Moving on...
Well we have all heard the cluster... concerning whats all in this dlc... be it SP or MP or both. As for the teasers I think they were just ment to throw us off what it all is. I don't know. However I like to believe that bioware has our best intrest at heart. Anyway my thinking is this what if it two dlc's. Now hear me out.
Whats stoping them from presenting the MP as part one of the Dlc and the SP as Part two. They could charge for one and the other be free. Or both of either. I guess we will find out soon enough.
And yes I posted this in the spolier section just in case spoliers are said. So what do think?

The Extended cut move everything back, which took likely longer the write and insure less plotholes as possible then it honestly took to develop the 5+mins or so total of Cinema scenes and Voice over.
So the development team in Edmonton went back to finish dlc one which was already nearly done.

I've never understood why Bethesda can put out a compressed file for 800 (i think it was) MB for dragonborn and even compress all of the base edition of skyrim into 3.8GB, when Bioware can only fit a meager length DLC like levi or omega into their 2GBS of XBLspace.
Is this just difference in compression, engines or graphical requirements used or something?
I'm sure there is someone who understands what i mean and can explain.
On topic; I think they would most likely be separate, independent of each other. So far MP and SP have been from different sections of Bioware.

It might be an optimisation issue. Without enough time, they may be unable to cut things the way they would for a really polished product. For instance, the EC was 2GB because those ending slides were movies rather than still images. Modifying it to work as pictures would take time but reduce the size dramatically.

I see. So its about time and resources, not tech quality.

if pesky MS wasn't so 'tight' they'd expand their download quota. I've heard xbox won't go over the 2mb limit. Overhead issues I guess.

I'd like to hear some speculations on the release date for the DLC. Does anyone know when we'll be getting it?

You sure about that? Priestly said that the DLC is in the Quality Control phase. That means that they will not announce a release date until they have managed to trim bugs, problems and all those things that appear in the last phase of development.
Mid-march seem strangely close for a QC.

That only encourages a further lack of optimisation. I have a download limit each month, I have to ration. 2GB is a reasonable limit. They're not adding more content, they're making the same content fit in a tighter space.

sure it is, Kb wise, and why? because they lowered the compression just to make that claim. same reason they used huge movies as still slides in the ec

Also there will be MP DLC, not just because one of the teaser images are probably showing a Krogan on Firebase Goddess, but because Priestly twittered that there will be more DLC, SP and MP and that was after Retaliation/Omega.
And you can't put a part of the SP DLC into the MP DLC and therefore split the actual DLC size without telling you customers that they will need both in order to play it.
There are still some people around playing SP exclusively.
But let's not forget that EA is the publisher, if anyone can talk MS into stretching limits, it's them.

Not really. Mid-march is very reasonable for this sort of thing, and it coincides with the one yr anniversary right? I'm sure they had a schedule planned for all this for awhile. Hopefully they are taking longer to bug test it though after the uproar over how glitchy omega was that it almost seemed like no one even play tested it
