I'd kill him, reload the game and see what happens if I don't kill him. Afterwards I'd probably spend a minute or two deciding which choice I'd make.

No. Because the game would then need to canonnize Hawke, so it would leave a lot of fans unhappy. Also, the appearence customizations, etc...

But there is the save Import, but maybe it doesn't take things like appearence to next game, only Quest Results.

Well, I'm going to answer the question now.

Why?

Sure would. I bet Hawke would have some sweet gear to pick from his / her corpse.

What?

You should see me in an open world rpg when someone has a nice piece of gear or a jaunty hat. It's murder time.

I would need a good reason for doing it, not because i'm attached to him but rather that i don't see a reason for doing so. As said i'm not attached but i don't have anything against him/her, he agrees with me on most issues. So no...

However i do want to kill Cassandra and Cullen :)

What is it about that according to this forum nearly every NPC should be romanceable or killable?

On topic: If my Hawke would be between DA III protagonist and the goal he wants to reach, sure. At the moment I finished DA II Hawke stopped to be "my character", so he is like every other NPC, not that he felt like my character anyway.

No. Of course not. That would upset Anders. And I dint want to hurt Anders.

Never really developed bond to my Hawke, but no killing him/her is not an option.

No, I liked Hawke. She wasn't "my" character, but I liked her as much I do as any NPC companion.

I doubt there's anything she could do that would annoy me that much that I would feel the urge to be all "DIE YOU PIXELATED VIDEO GAME CHARACTER SCUM". Hell, I liked Anders the same despite him...um...I'm guessing spoilers aren't allowed so uh..."doing what he did to the Chantry" (and I like the Chantry and the mother-whats-her-face); if I still liked him after that I don't think there's anything Hawke could do to make me go all bloodthirsty over a video game character. Unless she killed Fenris, Varric, Isabela or a bunny or something even remotely cute.

Although it might just be that I think Anders is hot and it makes me more forgiving. Who knows (I'm shallow, I know).

I just hope to God she doesn't show up in DA:I though. I edited the **** out of her face with mods and if she comes back looking like the stoned default Hawke I will be annoyed.

I like my personal favorite Hawke. She was all Law and ORDER, all the time. Sure, she was hilariously uptight and always followed rules as much as she could, but the only way I could see having to go after her is if I was rocking a mage who was like "OSHI...." And Hawke was like "STOP YOUR BLOOD SHENANIGANS."

And then it'd be war.

You possible  get this no matter what you do of course if devs decide continue that no matter you do still good guy will turn into body golem because they want second boss battle.

Yes i want this option just because i want more freedom in game so i have mood for killing hawke on my jerk character  it would be nice have this option.

Personally I think it would be kind of stupid, because if you import a da2 hawke your basically killing a portion of yourself. Why would you want to kill someone you "helped create" sort of speak.

It would be kind of cool if there was a tense chaotic moment between the new protagonists LI and hawke in which you had to calm things down or pick a side

I would in some playthroughs not in others. There will be some of my characters who when they have an option to kill someone they never do, and there are some characters who kill any one they have the oppurtunity, it really would matter on the Inquisitor in that playthrough.

Depending on which Hawke, yes.

For my first playthrough, my mage-supporting playthrough (where I'm a Mage and so was the Warden and Hawke), no, I would work with Hawke for mage freedom.

However, in a playthrough where my Hawke was a jerk and my Inquisitor was against them? Yeah, totally kill them.

Well seeing as my Inquisitor is going to be an omnicidal maniac, it's very likely.

I love all my Hawkes :( Even my blood mage aggressive Hawke. I couldn't kill her. I love her as equally as I love my Wardens >.<
There's my answer.
I wouldn't want my Warden or Hawke to appear in DA:I but it seems the devs are going intergrate them both somehow.

This is amazing! Well-worded, well-constructed, & well-thought out. I must say you made your point unequivocally evident concerning the participation of the warden among other things. Fantastic.[smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/wizard.png[/smilie]

Thank you very much. I'm glad you enjoyed it.

Not really, no. Why would we go through the trouble of the events in Dragon Age 2 only to end up killing him in Dragon Age 3? It just makes no sense.

I propose this as an option if possible. Also consider that DA isn't really about one particular person, but Thedas as a whole. Realistically people die & become apart of history. My warden will eventually die due to the darkspawn taint, but his legacy will always be remembered. The same can be said for Hawke.

I imagine it can also be an issue of how far your new protagonist is willing to go to achieve his (or her) goals in Inquisition, like the cost of losing Leliana and Wynne if your Warden sided with Kolgrim and his Reavers. For players who really liked their respective Champion of Kirkwall, it could be a difficult issue of choosing between your prior protagonist, or a goal that is of the most paramount importance to your protagonist. I can see how a pro-templar Inquisitor might come into conflict with a pro-mage Champion, for example.

Kill off our playable character? That's very cold hearted. Your new character would've only just met them as well, is killing someone your way of greeting them?

I can't think of any reason why my Inquisitor would, regardless of how I end up playing them.

My Hawke was neutral on the Templar/Mage issue for the most part. He was not, however, neutral on the 'peace and security of Kirkwall' issue, so his choice at the end was based on the overriding goal of seeing the people of Kirkwall safe and prosperous.

At the end, it was a Win/Win for my Hawke because he got to cut out the festering tumors rotting the hearts of both organizations. It was unfortunate that one of them was eradicated in the process, but sometimes the patient dies on the table.

She was awesome. Hawke was great.

I'd stab her to death and drink her blood. But no, I don't see her returning in a good way and I think the consistent continuity between game characters throughout several games/expansions is going to get out of Bioware's hands.

Hawke wasn`t my character at all, so I wouldn`t shy away from it. I wouldn`t go looking for an opertunity either, though. I see him\\her more like a companion, I guess.

Depends on the reason.

And what is with all these "I want to kill/Can we have an option to kill x character" threads all over the BSN?

Tis an interesting philosophical question you ask OP.

Do I want something to exist just so I can express my hatred towards it? What would have happened to my hatred of DA2 if   DA2 had never existed? Would it mean  the hatred in turn, had never existed at all? Oor does the hatred of DA2 erupt from some dark corner of soul always able to find an appropriate channels to erupt, regardless of wether DA 2 itself exists?

...yeah give me a Hawke to kill! Hell, make a game around it.
